Christian Broadcasting Network Wonders if Prayer Moved Storm Away From Tampa to Protect the RNC

CBN believes is a God than when asked to avert a deadly storm, decided to turn it the left and flood New Orleans instead of turning it to the right and flooding the Atlantic Ocean.

Why is the conservative vision of God always such a dick?

I always am tickled by tornado survivors who say,"God protected me and my family".

Well, what about those other forty people? Did God just say, "fark it, you can't save 'em all!".

yeah, he is just showing up all the farkers here who last week were claiming this was some sort of punishment to the GOP.

nice try guys, try again.

I know this is well-trod territory but God gets all the credit and none of the blame.

There was a news story on local television here about a woman who was injured in an accident spent some time in a coma and when she came too found out that she had been evicted, had her car repossessed (BTW no insurance) and when the reporter asked her what was she going to do now her answer was something along the lines of - Just have faith and god will take care of it.

Because god has done a bang-up job so far.

If "normal" you mean the majority of the population, then you are sadly mistaken. "Normal" people depend on magical thinking. It's a small minority that outgrows it.

I don't understand these people. The idea that God is willing to change weather so that politicians can have a party but isn't willing to stop, say, a baby getting raped is just so freaking horrible and moronic. The idea that people not only believe in such a God but also worship Him is enough to make people atheists.

God loves Republicans so much that instead of attacking Tampa with a hurricane, he directs it toward noted Liberal hotspots Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama instead.

Oddly enough, New Orleans was hit with Gustav during the last RNC. Whatever you're doing, knock it off, Republicans. It's annoying.

2012-08-27 02:40:56 PM
Obviously the GOP prayed to Satan. God'll get to the comeuppence but his timetable really sucks for everyone else.

2012-08-27 02:41:26 PM
I call bullshiat. Rush Limbaugh said the National Weather Service is just Obama controlling the weather reporting. Why would Obama want to help the GOP?

A couple of my old high school friends who found me on FB sometimes post things like "You gotta let God take the wheel" or the equivalent. I keep wanting to reply "so that's why your life is such a trainwreck?" but I refrain. FB flamewars get really ugly.

2012-08-27 02:42:05 PM
The GOP was better off with the hurricane. Now reporters have nothing else to write about except for the platform and republican luminaries will give speeches about the upside of rape.

If you want to bless a god for tilting a hurricane away, you better be sure he isn't steering towards other farking people. Otherwise that causes superiority complexes which makes you an arsehole.

It's hard not to get a little bit loud when your "opponent" things magic is making the weather all wibbly.
