Kenny B: PirateFuzzball: /Northside Hospital in GA is great at birthing babies; they have that shiat down to a science. Damn man. Sorry to hear. Would Gwinnett be any better? Too far? My wife has worked for them for years. Hang in there. Will pray for you & your wife.

We appreciate it. Gwinnett Medical is a bit out of our reach. NS Forsyth is only three miles away for us. I will say the next time she's screaming in pain saying it hurts worse than childbirth, I think we'll be going to Emory in Johns Creek. Their ER was more on it when she visited their before we married; plus it's closer to the in-laws and they would be able to bring our newborn to visit more frequently. Lord willing, that doesn't have to happen again.

postnobills: Donn C. Drummond in Disguise:
CSB Time:
My GP gave me a heckuva 50th birthday present last year. First, the "twilight" or whatever anesthetic for the colonoscopy had no effect, so perhaps like you I had now choice but to gleefully learn the appearance of every inch of my colon-no wonder they call it "the LARGE intestine." (No polyps, so really no complaints.)
That was a playful warmup for:
THE CAMERA UP THE BLADDER!!!
First, a pretty little nurse comes in and puts 2 clamps (think binder clips) on my peen and leaves the room for half an hour.
Then, she and the doc come in and fire up the Torquemada Industries Creeper/Peeper 3000. (If you're afraid of snakes, it must be terrifying beyond belief.)
Now, keep in mind, no med's (shoot, I was on Xanax at the time-could have done it myself), no stern words of warning, not even a "Now, this may be a little uncomfortable..."
So, I'm trying to relax so it will just slide right in (new sympathy for females), which it kind of does up the peen, but then, the moment of TRUTH:
You know that sphincter muscle that (hopefully) keeps you from leaving a trail of urine everywhere? (You, too, ladies!)
For some mysterious reason, the sphincter doesn't LIKE having a pencil-sized writhing object pass thru it!
Although my torture was not over, I will kindly end yours now.
/I think (hope) I just put a few urologists back in general practice. (One in particular!)
//End CSB. May it R.I.P.

Oh man... I feel you pain. I had a cystoscopy last year and guess what? Turns out I'm highly resistant to Propofol. I dont so much blame the urologist as I blame the anesthesiologist who, I don't know, didn't think to do anything when his previously semi-conscious patient was screaming on the operating table. Yeah, yeah you "didn't want to do a full induction" because the last procedure ran long and you were late for lunch. Bastard.

They're not thinking about your suffering. They're thinking about their next golf game, also how unfair it is that even though they've got full One Percenter Gatehouse Cred, they're not allowed into a hedge fund with a measley $1-2 mill.
/TRUE STORY: Used to know a male O.R. nurse who said that the "gas-bottle guys" were the most disliked in O.R., and whispered about behind their backs. TO ALL ANESTHESIOLOGIST FARKERS: I have known several, decent human beings who shared your credentials whom I would be perfectly willing to turn over my vitals on the table. Such as the kind little unassuming but brilliant Korean lady Dr. who did my wife's 27-weeker C-section (a tricky op that came off without a hitch and minimal pain.)

PirateFuzzball: Spent two weeks on this bed spawned from Hell:
[s16.postimage.org image 845x1500]

Wife got Pancreatitus and gallstones. Her gallbladder was surgically removed. I slept in that cursed bed all two weeks so my wife wasn't alone and the farking nursing staff didn't kill her. We had a small handful of great nurses, but the norm was crap. We complained to patient relations twice with the last time leaving them speechless. On more than one occasion a nurse or a tech would nearly rip the IV out of her arm trying to "help" her. The doctor would stop one drug, replace it with a different drug, and the staff would just administer both to her. They'd ignore what she was saying, relay the misinformation to the doctor, he'd change the orders on the "new" information, and she'd end up in excruciating pain until she saw the doctor 12 hours later plus additional wait time on them getting around to doing the new drugs. On the last day she had an asthma attack; after three calls and her gasping for air, I broke into the lock-box and handed her rescue inhaler. The respiratory specialist rolled around an hour later, he just asked if she got her medication, and walked off without giving a fark.

/Northside Hospital in GA is great at birthing babies; they have that shiat down to a science. Don't bother going to the Forsyth campus at least if you or your loved one doesn't want to risk dying in a farking hostpital. Their doctors are fine, it's the rest of the staff that doesn't give a fark.

Stay Away! It SUCKS down here!!!

Woah, which part of the forest has those springs? I'm looking for a place to camp this fall and that's about 2 hours north and it looks great.

The gentleman above is correct with Juniper Springs, nice family camping (A little noisy though, lots of traffic noise from RT 41), but the other picture that looks like pure paradise or the fountain of youth is in Silver Glen Springs. You can also camp is Salt Springs, a little quieter. However the most secluded camping (and the quietest) that I found was at Hopkins Prairie (Where the moss tree pic was taken). There are sites for camping in RV and tents, but no springs right there, you need to travel to all the springs. But there are 3-4 spring areas within 10-20 miles from the site.  All of the areas are close to each other in that area.

Spectacular - it's on mine as well. Any advice?

I stayed in Nice (scouted out hotels on tripadvisor.com) and took the train to Monaco for the race, only takes 20-25 minutes and costs around 6 Euros. After the race they open up the track and I was able to walk a lap around the entire circuit as well. Just make sure you book your hotel a few months in advance. I stayed at the Hotel Star, nothing fancy, but the rooms were clean and the staff was nice. I do wish I had learned more French before I went on my trip, but as long as you make an effort I found that almost everybody was pretty helpful...
