Some of you are very brave about going to bad fierce high mountains.

I am terrified of heights and had a horrid time going over one of the highest passes in the [UK] Lake District, at all of 1,500ft last week, still having bad dreams.

Yes, I am pathetic. And next year I'm going somewhere flat, like The Netherlands, or East Anglia.

I once drove around Gozo [island off Malta] in the back seat of the car with a blanket over my head and holding Secondborn's hand.

The kids did a helpful running commentary:

"It's OK mum, not too bad. Don't look mum....don't look....don't look....HOLY shiat, MUM DON'T LOOK!"

Heh, there is a big tourist area with large barricades, you should be fine staying there. The trail just gives you the same view from another angle. I hope you have great weather when you go. It rained every day I was there other than the last two days of the trip. I still had a blast (stayed with some family in the Connemara area) but it would have been better to be able to see the views.

Treygreen13: Screw Oswald, I want to know more about NICK BEEF.

Story goes, after the cemetery stopped giving away the location of Oswald's grave, someone bought the plot next to it, and put a stone with Nick Beef. All you had to do was ask where the Nick Beef stone was, and you'd find Oswald.

Cemetery records state that no one is buried below the Nick Beef stone.

The best part about Ol' South is that the waitresses look exactly the same, every day no matter what time you go. 10 years from now, all the waitresses will be exactly the same. In 100 years, I may be flying my jetpack there but Gertrude will still be asking me what I want with my pancakes with a cigarette still dangling between her preserved lips.
