This Jets season is like a Christmas present under the tree when you were 6 years old. You can't wait to open it, the anticipation is literally killing you, and you know that no matter what it ends up being, it will be glorious.

I think the Jets would be happy if Boomer came back to QB this year.

Just start Tebow already. Everyone knows that's where the Jets are going.

That way you have an excuse for never scoring.

Rex Ryan = Abe Gibron + more talented players - polyester.

Discuss.

To be fair, Sanchez played pretty well that game. The INT wasn't on him. The lack of touchdowns is more of a "team" problem. Not a Sanchez problem.

/ Maybe the Jets should invite the T.Ocho show along.
// They can't play any worse than their current receivers

At least not until they marry the other team.

Is it too early to start hoping for a team to set the record of throwing more pick-6s than touchdowns in a season?

They're saving their TDs for the right team.

I also love how Sanchez has decided it's not his fault, and he's taken to throwing his teammates under the bus, this early.

Hopefully, if the right tackle situation works out better with Howard (looked decent last night), they can open up the offense a bit more, instead of having to leave in extra blockers all the time.

Yeah I was a little surprised at his comment about the WRs shaking off the rust but maybe he thought that was a was of protecting them from people thinking they can't play anymore

2012-08-27 11:10:53 AM
And now Rex Ryan is regretting saying he liked the stat that the last team to not score a TD through its first two preseason games was the 2003 KC Chiefs with Trent Green and Priest Holmes.

Yes, then Tebow could help Owens and Johnson to find Jesus and then when Sanchez gets benched and Tebow takes the Jets to the playoffs the religious folks can have multiple orgasms.

One of this OL guys(Slauson, I think) picked up an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, and Sanchez hammered him after the game for it.

Nice to see how much unity the Jets have. I'm guessing they're gonna be near the league record for fewest points this season.

They'll have to change the name to The Red Sea Zone.

That quote is wrong, which is completely shocking, since it's from the NY Post.

It was even mentioned on TV last night multiple times that the 2003 KC Chiefs under Vermeil were the last to do it, and they went on to lead the league in scoring that year.

I have lived within 20 miles of Giant Stadium (it will be a cold day in hell before I call it Met Life Stadium) my entire life. This unfortunately meant that ever August for the past 30 years I have had to listen to all my friends who are Jets fan talk about going to the Super Bowl. When confronted with the fact that predicting a Super Bowl run in August is insane the response was always "This year is different, we have Sanchez/Farve/Rex Ryan/Revis/Tebow/etc and we'll going all the way!" And every year they would implode usually by end of October.

Today I woke up and say the following quote on Facebook, "This is going to be a long miserable season."

Now I can't really rejoice in a team's bad performance (Unless that team is the Patriots, I am a Giants fan after all) but it was so nice to finally see a dose of reality.

It was the first two games (you're missing a 9-0 win over Green Bay in Week -1 (according to ESPN's KC season), which I'm assuming was the HoF game that year)

You guys just want to bash, Tim! Tim has so much heart. Tim just goes out there and tries so hard. Tim is not a THUG like everyone else in the NFL. Tim works so hard unlike everyone else in the league. I can't believe that you people have no faith in Tim!

Man, I miss last year when people actually said this shiat.

Never noticed that. It's not the HOF game. That was the game they played the 9th of August that year.

Wonder why they played an extra preseason game.

Chaz Schilens is nothing but rust. While very talented when he makes it on the field, he's apparently made of matchsticks and Elmer's glue and can't make a three game stretch without missing time. Prepare for a revolving door in the slot this year, Jets fans.

Meh. It's the Jets, the media/fanbase always overreacts. Right now they're a worse team than Southwest Texas A&M Junior College, but if they happen to win two or three in a row we'll be treated to all the "New York is a Jets town now, baby" tripe we can handle.

/And it will happen
//Still think Buffalo is a bigger threat to the Pats, but that isn't saying much

That was the game that was called because of weather, halfway through the 3rd. Now I remember it.

2012-08-27 12:11:13 PM
A good part of the reason I love every new NFL season is to listen to Jets fans spout off that "this is the year!" and season in, season out, watch the whole thing crumble like Thiesmann's lower leg.

Said it before, say it again- the Jets will NEVER win anything meaningful- does not matter one iota who the QB is, who the coach is- The entire organization is snakebitten and amateurish, from top to bottom. I'd bet that even the janitors who work for the Jets suck.

I guess I can see the argument for Buffalo being a bigger threat, in that horribly shiatty > all-world shiatty. The Jets may well wind up last in the division. The Dolphins and Bills can at least kick field goals and occasionally stumble into touchdowns every few weeks. The Jets can't. Their OL is a trainwreck, RBs and WRs are terrible, and Sanchez is throwing the ball. And their defense is going to be subpar as well. It's like somebody took the 2011 Pats' defense and matched it up with the 2010 Fins' offense.

It still baffles me that the Jets picked up Sparano to be their OC. "Sure, we have no OL, and our running back might be good enough to make the practice squad of half the teams in the league, but GROUND AND POUND, BABY!"

There is no threat to the Pats in the division. The Jets, Fins and Bills are all going to be garbage this year. But at least the Fins and Bills have the excuse of ongoing rebuilding.

There's still one guy like that, he's just not here yet. I don't know about Tebow - I don't doubt he's been working his ass off but from what I've seen this preseason his technique actually appears to have gotten worse.

Who Made Te-bow cry?
That's right the 3rd string QB Greg McElroy. Greg will get his chance next game. He will score a TD! Why cause Broadway Joe say so! Tebow is there to put butts in seats, sell jerseys, and run the wild-kat.

2012-08-27 01:09:33 PM
Watching that game last night was painful, because you see Tebow in the 2-minute drill and you can just feel the announcers' pants tightening as they breathlessly narrate him hilariously blowing pass after pass and getting his awful "attempts" batted away by guys who will be bagging groceries in 2 weeks.
