Was a national thing? I was sitting in Times Squate yesterday and all of a sudden I was surrounded by boobs. And not the kind of boobs you want to be surrounded in.

Go Topless believes the sexualizing of the breasts comes from societal repression stemming from the idea that breasts are objects of sex and desire and therefore must be covered.

"By baring our breasts just as a man, it can bring us closer to gender equality by showing that they are not objects, they are parts of us that we are not ashamed of," Duffy said.

Good lord.

I might be able to fap to this.

I really can't agree with anything that tries to de-sexualize women's breasts.

Good Lord! Where on earth do they come up with the idea that breasts are not objects associated with sex and desire? Though admittedly if you do intend to spend a lifetime with out a bra or any other support, the resulting flapjacks are not likely to be very desirable.

I have noticed that many women are unopposed to staring at the chests of handsome muscular men. I think the real issue that needs to be addressed is having all unattractive people cover up more and attractive people cover up less.

I'd be more than happy to put up with seeing a few "golfball in a sweatsock" granny boobies if it meant that women in general felt comfortable walking around topless when they want to. This Go Topless organization is full of loons, but the goal is a good one. Boobies are awesome.

My 2 cents on the "sexualization of boobies": The problem is not that breasts have been sexualized. Breasts are sexual (at least for humans). The problem is that in the US we have come to see them as only sexual, or "primarily" sexual, and that is blatantly fallacious. It is a lie, perpetrated by advertising, which has become so pervasive that is believed by the weak-minded masses. The truth is that the sexual aspect of female breasts is only a fractional part of what they truly are, and not a big fraction at that. I don't know how best to combat the process, whether it is to force advertisers to change how they do things or to initiate educational programs geared toward making weak-minded people aware of how much advertisers are actually controlling their minds, but anything that results in people taking a healthy and realistic view of the human body is something I would support whole-heartedly.

Why are we criminalizing only woman's boobs? This makes us the laughing stock of much of the world. why is something the a t is safe to share with a baby or toddler somehow dangerous for older boys? The whole thing is absurd. Free the boobies!

Play your cards right and you might get a pic from the "stay-at-home grandma" you lucky guy.

It is the same with nudists, it's always the people you least want to see without clothes that seem to be the most interested in taking them off.

I've seen plenty of videos and pics of chicks enjoying their own breasts during sex, including solo activity. Chicks also like to enhance the size of their breasts to increase their visual attractiveness. I'd say that by these rules, if chicks can run around topless, I'm going to be organizing a protest so that men should be able to let their junk hang out.

/obvious?

Someone doesn't know much about Phoenix.

The retirees by and large are either way out in the suburbs or only there during the winter, or both. In all my travels I can say that Phoenix has some of the hottest women in the US.

Balchinian: ....The truth is that the sexual aspect of female breasts is only a fractional part of what they truly are, and not a big fraction at that....

I was given to understand they have the sexual aspect and the feeding babies aspect. Given that women don't spend all that many years of their life devoted to feeding babies, and some don't breastfeed at all either because they bottle feed or don't have children in the first place, how is the sexual aspect only a "not a big fraction" of what they truly are? What else do they do?

The other problem is that people are being conditioned to think of a certain size and shape only as sexy, which is driving women to get enhancements and making them more uncomfortable with their bodies as they age.

This.

WTF are they thinking taking away one of nature's finest pleasures?

Also going topless is a luxury for the itty bitty titty committee members only. When you've got D cups or larger, going without support is just not comfortable enough for that to happen in the first place.

I'm all for this clothing equality.

I'd love to be able to wear a kilt around.

Now, I've known women that were, against this, because they didn't want to lose the power the boobies have over men, fearing we'd become desensitized to seeing breasts. I say, don't worry about it, we men won't lose interest in breasts, ever.

Actually no. Women go topless in many areas of the world without consequence. I can't imagine some pygmy hunter gatherer reaching over and going "honk honk" during the morning's busy commute down the game trail.

Here in the US, you can have the most depraved act of violence on the screen and the most people say is "meh" and as long as it has an R rating, they're fine. But topless women or nudity of any kind and omergeerd think of the childrenz!

2012-08-27 09:35:37 AM
As a father of two teen boys, I could give a crap if they see some boobs. Boobs and sex are a normal part of the complete active adult life. Violence is not. (internet porn is still forbidden because it's not constructive to them at this point in their development)

BTW, Subby you are so right about what the pics could have been like. We dodged a lot of bullets there.
