gameshowhost: Huffpost British Columbia? Really?

Apparently Huffington is now coming up here for some premium ganja! :P

That being said, now that the Vancouver Sun is behind a paywall (hah, won't last), this is pretty cool.

Note to self: Don't steal phones from ebola patients.

Seriously, though. If your company has offices in Africa, invest in teleconferencing software.

Bringing those people into the civilized world is just asking for all kind of trouble. Let them deal with Ebola in their native lands. Don't bring that shiat into the civilized world.

Oh, wow. Talk about your disproportionate karma.

So, uh, does this qualify for a Darwin award? Because I'm pretty sure that those hospitals have massive "Quarantine" signs up, and those pretty little biohazard flowers everywhere.

In Africa, could be anything from a modern hospital with proper quarantine to a poorly-patched tent with a couple of crossed sticks in front of the door...

Depends on how you look at it. Some might argue that they were bad people, and it was God's punishment.

Full story.

And LOL at the thief. He deserves what he gets for stealing from a sick person.

And yet a major challenge in that region is convincing people that no, sex with an underaged virgin won't get rid of HIV. Another is convincing South Africa's Minister of Health that her preferred HIV cure of "garlic, lemons and African potatoes" has no actual medicinal value, except maybe against Irish vampiric cat-people (and the science is still not in on that one.)

I'm thinking that, in a region that is seemingly notorious for folks not taking medical science very seriously, that it isn't much of a stretch to think that someone, somewhere, sometime, is going to be an unmitigated dumbass around Ebola. Sure enough...

And no one has mentioned the lack of telephone sanitizers being the cause of this?

For shame, Fark. You disappoint.

On one hand, the man who has been coughing into the mouthpiece has a rare fatal virus that turns your internal organs into a sort of jellied goo that pours out of your bleeding asshole before you die... but on the other hand, it's probably got some awesome ringtones on it. *Yoink!*

Hey, i wonder if these actually TASTE like blackberries... *lick*

Ebola is such a fragile virus that a little Windex would have sterilized the phone.

Liberate tutemae ex iPhonis?

I'm sure a lawsuit will be forthcoming for the owner of the phone and the hospital.

2012-08-27 09:12:44 AM
I'm a little worried over the transmission on this one. What I've read about Ebola is that the one good thing is that you pretty much need blood or other close contact to spread it. Was the phone bloody. and the Darwin candidate dumb enough to not even wash it?

2012-08-27 09:25:38 AM
THEN WHO WAS EBOLA PHONE?
