Tom Waits rules.

Simpsons is still funny.

Survivalist "preppers" need the piss taken out of them.

TLDR?

ok "Bad as Me" isn't such a great album but that doesn't mean he won't figure out where he stuck his piano and release a good album again. There was some good stuff on Orphans.

I'm indifferent to Tom Waits, but the headline was pretty spot-on about Simpsons.

2012-08-26 05:23:15 PM
Hey look, it's internationally acclaimed , !

Oh, they weren't talking about Family Guy.

You shut your whore mouth, subby.

I guessed it would be The Simpsons from he headline, but I would never have guessed Tom Waits from that description. While admittedly his latest work has not been as good as previous output, he is still a genuine artist at a time when the music industry pretty much has none. Tom Waits has no expiration date! The Simpsons, on the other hand, has stunk on ice for a decade at least, and lacks the decency to go away with a tiny bit of dignity intact.

Great. More Tom Waits and his screechy falsetto.

2012-08-26 05:56:25 PM
Isn't Tom Waits pretty much just a parody of himself by now?

2012-08-26 05:57:10 PM
i first heard Tom Waits in the mid 1980s and I was young and did not know a lot about music and I thought his schtick was lame and not entertaining.

I am older and wiser now and I know his schtick is lame and not entertaining.

fb with subby's mom?

Regarding your thoughts on tom waits. You are a sad sad half wit. Go back to blink 182 and just dont breed. Also, google his video released last month called 'hell broke luce' and tell me again he is irrelevant.

Jesus, man, what is it like to so lame and ill informed?

2012-08-26 06:08:48 PM
Tom Waits will be relevant and cooler than subby when his chain smkoing, hard boozing ass is a hundred farking years old.

If there's a clearer sign of nerdly pretension than "THE SIMPSONS ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE ZOMG" then I've yet to see it.

And The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus or whatever

Tom Waits does a crazy old coot really well, brings some real character to a role. I'd like to see him more instead of the same recycled old guys between LOTR, Xmen, and Starwars and a few others... Cool as some of them may be, it gets tiresome to see them over and over. It's like there's 4old guy actors and they just keep drawing straws to see who gets into the next franchise.

For some reason I thought he was in Alex Cox's "Straight to Hell" but a quick google proves me wrong.

Must have gotten him confused with the plethora of other musicians in that movie (Joe Strummer, Elvis Costello, Courtney Love, Grace Jones, etc).

You were probably thinking of Down by Law

Or one of the other 31 movies he has been in. Or the 119 movies he has contributed to the soundtracks.

Irrelevant?

Depends what you mean by schtick.

Alice is one hell of an album IMHO.
