cameroncrazy1984: cman: There is a difference between agreeing with Obama on a lot and complete loyalty. I am curious, have you ever criticized him on Fark?

Yep.

And even if I didn't, what makes you think that I would be blindly loyal? Why couldn't I just agree with what he does? Is that impossible to do while being informed? If so, why?

I actually only had "one day" for my guess as to when someone would willfully misinterpret that article and lie about it. Guess I was off.

I'm glad to see everyone just chilled on cman. He reminds me that conservatives aren't all Hoverround Teatards. Some of them actually engage the subject.

Normally one does not find a politician where they can agree with 100% of the policies. Me, for instance, I support Gary Johnson. I like him and his positions. Be that as it may, that does not mean I am in total agreement. For instance, I am against the balanced budget amendment to the US Constitution because I believe that the government needs to have some flexibility. Not only that, he and I have some differences of opinion on taxation issues (he supports FairTax, I support a flat tax). This is the man who I will be voting for in the upcoming election.

I showed you that, although I support Johnson, I do not agree with him on everything. I do not recall you ever doing the same for Obama. So, let me answer your question with a question, what dont you like about the President? If you cannot answer that, then you will understand what blind loyalty is; where you find absolutely no fault

" For the record: No, I am not calling Ryan a racist. I am saying, however, that if you want to know where a politician's heart lies when it comes to a particular community, it may be best to look at that person's policies -- such as his or her record on civil rights -- rather than personal relationships. What do you think? Please share your thoughts in the comments below."

Bashar and Asma's Infinite Playlist: What's the deal with the Paul Ryan "Hey Girl" meme? Is he objectively good looking to women, or just "politics hot?"

The original meme was Ryan Gosling "Hey girl,..." but after Paul Ryan's veep selection the meme template got reworked with Paul Ryan instead of Gosling and usually refers to odd juxtapositioning of the misogyny of the current GOP versus Ryan's supposed "hotness" factor.

I saw my first one of those within 24 hours of the announcement.

Claiming to have black girlfriend in college? That makes him racially tolerant, curious, and a horny fark. Probably a combination of all 3 but not in equal parts.

Claiming to have a black girlfriend when he actually didn't just to appear more racially tolerant? Douchebag.

If you haven't broken out of your tiny little shell and tried the interracial thing- I personally recommend it before you go condemning others for it.

ifarkthereforiam: Has anyone noticed how when some conservative says some blatantly racist thing the republicans fall all over themselves trying to prove the democrats are the real racists rather than deal with the racists in their ranks?

Not at all. I'll call out a racist of any party provided that he's being a racist and not just disagreeing with someone of another race.

ie; disagreeing with Obama's policy does not make one a racist. Jokes about him eating watermelon in the right context might.

Actually, the media might be trying to create an artificial controversy (you know, like death panels and Obama being a secret Muslim) but liberals really don't care. Seriously, we really don't.

But please, tell us how people like 'us' think. Then you and Bernie Goldberg can whine about how Jon Stewart generalizes.

The Root article was abominable, but not for the reasons Townhall claims. Kelli Goff, author of the original article, never accused Paul Ryan of being racist, but she did poison the well by suggesting that he might just be a racist - who knows?

It's a common technique of demagogues. "I'm not saying that my opponent is a child molester. There's no evidence to support that claim. Only he knows for sure whether he is."

It's insincere, indecent, and inexcusable.

That wasn't always the case. At one point you were just a Republican shill. But, you changed. You started being rational.

Hopefully, we'll get the chance to be uncivil towards one another in the near future.

Captain Dan: It's a common technique of conservative demagogues

The whole "I'm just asking questions" meme is mostly limited to conservatives. They have an entire national "news" network, multiple print publications and hundreds of blogs and websites devoted to it.

I agree, however, that's it's abominable and the article was ridiculous. Paul Ryan has already clearly shown that he views women as inferiors and that he's a massive classist, but I've never seen any evidence he's a racist.

And I don't need to. The other two things are more than sufficient to make me think he's a vile human being who has no business being near any position of power in the civilized world.

I thought the article lamely used the fact that Paul Ryan had a black GF to criticize the "some of my best friends are black" narrative. While it was clumsy and took advantage or Paul Ryan's recent news to make a point, I wouldn't go as far as what you're saying.

I don't blame malice when I can blame incompetence. I think she poisoned the well more out of incompetence than malice.

Though I can see the argument that it doesn't matter. Poisoning the well is poisoning the well.

If I do so, it would be for boring-as-hell reasons, not political reasons.
