He made a killing off the AGW scare until the useful idiots started to get ignored, took his ball and went home. I'd call him a complete idiot, but he's obviously pretty shrewd when it comes to fleecing envirotards out of their money.

Still more dignity than George W. Bush. Also, recurring cameo on Futurama. (I think I just repeated myself.

If Al Gore and the democrats had forcd Clinton to resign for obstruction of justice, Gore would have carried Tennessee and won the election. Ain't politics and karma a biatch? Well, he has scammed $100,000,000 from the enviroweenies. You can't say he is dumb for that.

I always thought of Al Gore as basically a good man. I glad to read that he's at peace with himself and doing what he can to save the world. Can't ask for a better life than that.

This^.

I have long had the impression that everything he did up to and including running for President was done out of a sense of duty to his father. (He even went to Vietnam to protect his father's political career when all around him his peers were getting deferments or cushy National Guard assignments.) Having run and lost, he was finally free to start his own life, and it sounds like he's trying to make up for lost time.

He's working on improving his Internet invention so that he can punch people over it that still believe humans aren't affecting the climate.

What do you mean what happened to Al Gore? He changed his name to Romney.

2012-08-26 10:35:16 AM
The NY Times (Rich/Dowd/Seely) did their utmost to see that W got elected. Their concern for Al Gore is touching.

It has truly become a joke of a newspaper.

So, then, climate change hasn't gone away simply because AAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL GOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRE! is no longer relevant? Color me shocked.

Is the headline implying it's some kind of mystery? All I ever hear is people complaining about him making himself a public figure. Current TV still sucks, though.

What a world we'd be in now if Al Gore had won in 2000...

We wouldn't have invaded Iraq, that's for certain.

But, it's equally certain that without that violent reaction to 8 years of Bush jr, we'd have never seen Obama elected.

So, thank you, Al. Your sacrifice will be remembered in the decades to come.

He's still doing his part to "help" the environment:

AL GORE lives alone now, in a 10,000-square-foot colonial in Nashville, where magnolia trees shade the house and geothermal wells, buried beneath the driveway, cool and heat its 20 rooms.

Some weeks Mr. Gore heads to San Francisco, where he has a luxury apartment at the St. Regis tower, to work on venture capital projects or visit his new girlfriend. And some nights he checks into the Regency in New York, where three of his children live.

2012-08-26 10:41:55 AM
What is it about Al Gore that drives conservative minded people insane?

He has always pointed out -- ALONG WITH NEWT GINGRICH AND OTHER PROMINENT REPUBLICANS BEFORE THEY WERE REPROGRAMMED -- that green businesses can make money and lead to a sustainable future. After political life he demonstrated just that. And made himself a bundle of cash.

The re-programmed right's reaction -- well read it yourself. I don't want to retype the derp.

Its so funny to see some very minor criticism of repubs coming from the NY Times after they cheered on retard Raygun back in the 1980s.

I can't stand people that cheer on psychopaths and then later have an epiphany that they may be going too far now.

Retard Raygun really is the perfect political sanity test. If you thought that evil, evil man was a good guy you need to shut up and sit down in the same corner with the idiots that think conservatives know how to run an economy

Apparently fleecing the Koch brothers out of theirs, too, since they funded research agreeing with Al.

Hmm...it seems as though Al Gore was the first victim of this latest wave of Republicrazy. Ken Starr was crazy and wasted our tax money, but they were using the "legal process". Al Gore was the victim of the Brooks Brothers Riot and the Supreme Court and the ur-Swiftboaters.

2012-08-26 10:46:33 AM
Gore is just doing what he wants to do, which is pretty much what anybody in this country really wants to do.

That said, I remembered a few years back they did a piece on him still doing environmental work, and he had this awesome three monitor Apple monitor setup. That's the kind of president I would want: constantly gathering information, engrossing in a project to make life better for the rest of us, all while doing it on a sweet three monitor setup.

I think we most of pretty much knew what happened to Gore, it isn't like he became a hermit. He became probably the most successful ex-VP I know of.

A better question is what happened to Dan Quayle, or it would be if anyone cared what happened to Dan Qualye.

/Also waiting for Dick Cheney's evil to radiate a powerful enough aura that his machine heart stops working.

Fundie Republicans should love Al Gore because he found a way to get rich by preaching to others to do as he says, not as he does.

To be completely fair, I can't even remember who his vice-presidential choice was....Wasn't it Edwards?

Gore was a socialist. At least, that's what Republicans said in 2000. So he would have nationalized everything and doubled everyone's taxes. Just like Obama has.

lol no shiat, right? If they had a spine, they'd bring him in, like the GOP is bringing their patron saint, George Bush Jr. to the Convention.

I mean, they 'are', right? Bringing their favorite ex-President? He's speaking at the Convention, right?

I find it hilarious that the same people who ridicule Al Gore for his do-goodery and alleged hypocrisy are A-OK with Bush Jr, who, by any account, was a terrible President and a war criminal and employed ruinous economic policies.

But har har har it snows in the winter so there's no global warming hurrrrrrrrrrrr durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have a question for everyone on this thread. You have two continents. On one, you have the republican country. Raping the environment for oil, copper, and spewing chemicals into their soil to retrieve natural gas. They are very rich. The other continent is a democrats dream. Wind turbines (probably vastly improved), safer water turbines, thermal heating and cooling, etc. Someone gives you two glasses of water, one from each continent, which one do you drink from?

True, and we would have been in and out of Afghanistan in a year or three instead of 20+.

Moreover, the Bush Tax Cuts would never have occurred, and as a result we'd still have a near-balanced Federal budget. The Great Recession would not have occurred. Sure, the real estate and banking crises would have happened, but they wouldn't nearly have been as bad as what actually came to pass.

John McCain would be running for near-certain reelection, taking credit for the solid rebound from the rather mild recession that started in the later years of Gore's Presidency, and widely liked as a modern-day Saint Ronnie.

Barack Obama would be about to lose his first bid for the White House, and we committed LibtardsTM would be wondering who might successfully challenge Sarah Palin for the White House in '16.

Happy Sunday morning, folks! ];^)

Just a wild guess but had the election not been stolen by the SCOTUS, its highly likely that 9-11 never would have happened.
