You're missing the point. This is a category not-for-shiat hurricane, and when Tampa doesn't get leveled, the Republicans are going to be saying it was because God heard all of their righteous prayers.
This may be a disaster, and it has nothing to do with water.

The rain falls on the just and the injust; it is our fault, human wanderlust. God designed hurricanes because haven't you ever played a Sim City game? At first all was Utopian; held in reserve were things broken. However when people decided to sin, God let all the shiat that we endure to occur as a penalty; 'tis a tragedy, and He saved us from our transgressions, said we had learned our lesson, chose to suffer and die for us, and let his life be ripped out upon a cross. Salvation for all and life eternal; damnation for those who chose a life infernal. Regardless of who you were and art, God shall enact a change of Heart; is not Death simple and stark, why should one wander in the dark? The end isn't naught; my friends, it isn't so, for I have got a way for us to go: this world shall perish in due course of entropy, because we as humans live so sinfully, but even amongst the worst there be, hope is viable, for you and for me.

Pretty much this. I'm on the FL gulf coast and people in my neighborhood aren't even putting up the hurricane shutters for this one.

All this is just giving the Tampa asshole convention more coverage.

Best thing that was the result of the RNC was Lisa Ann (Sara Palin porn impersonator) performing at thee dollhouse.

Obviously none of the Republican's travel agents understand that their God, on a regular basis, say from now until....the end of September, sends forth: storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, tropical depressions, lots and lots of rain to just about anywhere up and down the east coast. There are weather people-working for the United States goverment's National weather service, who will confirm this with pictures, drawings, and videos from the past two years. Why have a convention in this location, during predictable weather issues is only a question that Pat Robinson can answer! Let us now kneel and pray that the hurricane will go away!!! Go for it Pat!!!!!!

Here, they're commandeering boats in case Tampa roads are flooded and the hookers can't get to the convention hotels any other way.

First thing they'll shut down are all the polling places in black neighborhoods. So the Black Panthers can't congregate.

All snark aside, I find it difficult (but not impossible) to wish harm on others simply because of their misinformed beliefs.

But more to the point -- Tampa is not coastal, so being "swept out to sea" is no so realistic. Swept out to the bay, however...

I'm hoping the whole thing just snaps off under all the derp and falls into the sea.

I have no problem with wishing harm on people who do more bad in this world than good.

Emergency? Of course there is an emergency. They've been cracking down on the whores. Oh, the hurricane? Floridians are used to that stuff. More aggressively misty than anything else.

Don't worry, I've made a substitute convention just in case. And it has 100% more Olmec.

...seriously, I have written political convention crossover fanfic. I may in fact be insane. This may be some sort of plea for help.

I hear ya. But step back for a second and realize not all Republicans are evil baddies. Misinformed? Yes. Vote against their interest? -- check. Unintellectual and can't fully think through positions that don't conveniently fit on a bumper sticker? Certainly.

I know too many people that are Republicans and are not bad people to take the leap to feeling that way about the person despite their political affiliation. Remember, a lot of folks have been Republicans long before they let the religious camel's nose into the tent to become G.od's O.nly P.arty. It sucks that most of them can't find a home in the Democratic tent which is chock full of fiscal conservatives. But whatever. Some people still hold on to the 70's characture of "tax and spend liberals" and other such nonsense and they're too old to change.

I guess it sort of a case of "hate the game, not the player".

FTFA: Isaac's center made landfall just before midday near the far-eastern tip of Cuba, downing trees and power lines. In the picturesque city of Baracoa, the storm surge flooded the seaside Malecon and a block inland, destroying two homes.

Key words, "this party". For the most part they're still viable players due to useful idiots that put them in power just because they wrap themselves in god and the flag. If one got down to specifics, a lot of them don't even believe in the shiat their party stands for. Sad.

person: "Senator, you have the vote of every thinking person!"

Adlai Stevenson (allegedly): "That's not enough, madam, we need a majority!"

Forget the US, their social policies don't affect me or the world.

But their foreign policy does.

They are a threat to the whole world. We all know what happens everytime a republican is the president of the US. You get wars that destabilize the rest of the world. the worlds already too unstable. we dont need them to set off ww3
