I haven't heard anything about a bad attitude. Dude just sucks now and will be cut this week in all likelihood. And there's no chance he makes it on the 53-man roster.

Maybe he's grown up, but in Dallas he acted like a spoiled primadonna

And Cincinatti. And Buffalo. And the Austin Wranglers.

That they all should have drafted Russell Wilson in the first round?

He's just about ready to be picked up for a 5 year, $100m contract with the Washington Redskins.

Pretty sure Philly's happy they got Foles in the third.

Note this dumb article was written before last nights 44-7 preseason result at KC. Owens had one terrific catch, one routine one in about 5 total plays on the field.

If we cut him or we don't, I really don't have an issue with it. But nice wind up article, sure to get some clicks.

I think Carroll plans to keep TO around just to make certain the Seahawks make it onto Sportscenter regularly.

He's annoying and a huge distraction. Unless he's to produce huge numbers, I do not want to see him on the Seahawks final roster.

The thing is, if you're going to talk trash and smack, at least be able to back it up

what? one of the oldest players on any NFL roster and who hasn't played in the NFL since 2010 (and not even a full season at that) may not make the 53 man roster? what?

I've watched TO for just about as long as I've been watching football. He was in 'Frisco when the 49ers were my favorite team, and at Philadelphia when the Eagles were my favorite team.

The most egregious thing about TO is that he DROPS BALLS.

His most famous catch, dubbed "The Catch II" is only prominent because he spent that whole game dropping balls that would have won the game earlier.

For every spectacular catch he'll make, he'll drop 2 easy ones.

2012-08-25 03:32:04 PM
Soooooooooooo...cut him?

yeah.....at his prime, he was death in the end zone. or the red zone for that matter.

but that 3rd and 9 pass when the team was sitting on its own 42? Cast iron frying pans for hands.

and odd that braylon edwards is likely (suposedly) to beat out TO for the final roster spot. he's also infamous for dropping balls.

Braylon Edwards, with the Niners last season, was the worst looking WR I've ever seen.

one could go back and find the NFL Draft thread, but those of us that watch Pac 10 regularly were telling Philly they got a bit of a steal with Foles as low as he went. not a marquee program, not reallly a marquee conference the past 5 or so years, and so no one really saw him play but I did, many times. i'm not saying ZOMG THE NEXT BRADY but.....Foles is very talented and can make a lot of throws. when he gets his arm strength up and adjusts to NFL speed, I think Philly will be very satisiefd with that draft pick.

his stateside counterpart (Brock Osweiler, backin up Peyton Manning in Denver).....very intruiging. A mobile 6'5" QB with a quick release. I'd liek to see him add about 20 lbs of muscle as he is rai lthin, but.....man.

of course I thought Andrew Walter (ASU, 2003 or so) would light the NFL on fire and i think he only lasted about 5 years total. getting drafted by an awful Oakland team with no weapons just completely stunted hsi career.

ehhh.

Walter was such a statue in the pocket that he made Bledsoe look like Vick from Madden 04.

yeah but keep in mind just a year or so earlier, the Raiders had drafted G Robert Gallery something nuts like 2nd overall and he never really panned out. i mean, he played there for 4-5 years but never really developed into the kind of stalwart you'd expect for a guy taken there and wtih those gifts.

and walter's forte was chuckin' it. Pac 10 passing leader for awhile and i believe broke John Elway's TD record. not exactly Mike Vick. not his game.

You know, a version of Poe's Law applies to the Redskins in that it's very difficult to tell if someone is joking or being serious. You could tell me that Dan Snyder makes all his players play with buttplugs inserted, and I'd Google it half-expecting it to be real.

a) These Yahoo "fan contributor" articles are the most worthless things on the Internet. Notice how there are no actual interviews; it's just a quote from an article a couple weeks ago that speculates that TO is becoming a problem. Nobody has actually even gone off the record to complain about TO.

b) TO could still make the team. He's still fast and runs great routes. He has had a bunch of drops and wasn't in sync with Flynn 2 weeks ago. Last night looked a little better. He's probably outperformed some of the younger guys playing for a spot.

c) W.r.t. the headline, if he is a problem on the field, then he will learn about Pete Carroll what TJ Houshmanzedah and LenDale White already learned. Dude's on a non-guaranteed contract; I don't think they'll have any trouble dropping him like yesterday's halibut if he's "not in".

T.O. was perfectly fine in Buffalo. Showed up, ran his routes, played pretty well, kept his mouth shut.

The Bills had a ton of problems that season, but T.O. wasn't one of them.

Gallery was drafted as a LT, not a guard. He couldn't hack it outside so they moved him to guard. And Andrew Walter was born 15-20 years too late. If he was in the league in 1986 and not 2006 he might've had a solid career as a pocket passer but in this era he didn't have a chance in hell unless he had the likes of the '76 Raider O-line in front of him.

Sure... let me take this opportunity to complain about the piss-poor replacement refs. Good god. What, do they think... the Texans are the Patriots now?

They seem to have a problem with interference calls. One of the CBS guys said that the rules were different for college. More protective. Well.. maybe. Though one of the Texans just tackled one of the Saints' receivers. I think that would be illegal even in the Kazakhstan Bastard American Gridiron Football League.

It is preseason... an as long as the real refs are back by the time the season starts... I'll be ok.

Strange... years ago when they had another strike, my general impression was that the replacements were doing a better job. I was sad to see the regulars back.

This time... god... they are awful.

Foles was behind Russell Wilson on my list of steals.

I wouldn't be shocked if they were the best two QBs of this past draft when all is said and done, but I don't have those expectations for Foles (Wilson... yeah, I think he could be the best of this draft class).

OK to continue my biatching. That time the Texas defender didn't even look at or for the ball and obviously, completely interfered with the receiver in the endzone. No flag. WTF?

They've let damn near everything go. I don't mind as long as they let it go for everyone. I'm a fan of letting as much as you can go.

/there were so many holds in the KC/Sea game that weren't called
//but then, I'm used to the NBA, where you basically figure out what the refs are going to call and then get away with as much as you can

D'oh I forgot about Luck... hearing about him for so long, I'm almost used to him being in the NFL. Drop them to 2 and 3, respectively.

I actually HOPE RGIII does well for himself (as a big "f*ck you" to Michael Vick), but I'm somewhat skeptical. Tannehill has "bust" written all over him. And a 28-year-old who was NOT the best quarterback in college football for the last couple years? Complete failure of a draft pick.

You are correct.

That said, at least they aren't calling the Saints for roughing the passer after the Fosbury Flops that Schaub is doing.

So maybe... sometimes... possibly... they are paying attention... but they still don't seem to know the rules.

I mean, I still think it would be funny if the Seahawks picked Wilson over Flynn. I was high on Russell, but not THAT high on him (though, to be fair, I wasn't as high on Matt Flynn as some were, either).

I got Ben Roethlisberger and Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers right, maybe I'll get this one, too.

/got Cam Netwon wrong... still anticipating a down year for him, though

I don't think Wilson being a starter is really a knock on Flynn - Flynn was a totally solid QB when he was playing. Wilson was just better.

/would've been nice to let Flynn play with Edwards and Rice (y'know, guys who actually catch passes) instead of TO

Frankly, I feel that the Seahawks now have the two best QBs in the division.
