I was expecting a story about a pole gardener in San Fransisco to be about something else entirely.

Sorta like manscaping then?

He's been doing this in America? I'm surprised he's not in jail.

Is that sorta like a cock forest?

It's not like he's feeding the homeless.

Someone will complain soon, I'm sure. Certainly now that it's made the news. There will always be someone to ruin it for everyone else. All part of the social contract, really... you wanna enjoy streets, electricity, and all the other good things that come with living in a society... you've also gotta put up with assholes, of which there is no shortage.

pole gardener... sounds like a male version of a wax job technician.

The reason I can understand this is because a shopkeeper saw the plantgiver on a bicycle. A bicyclist is immune to the legitimate financial rape of up to $3.50 an hour for those parking meters. When I can get motorcycle parking, it's 70 cents an hour for what used to be a nickel or dime an hour not long ago.

One spokeswoman at City Hall said since the plants aren't causing any problems the city has no plans to remove them.

Best part of the article. Seriously. Someone at City Hall who is saying, "hmmm, no harm, no foul." I'm shocked!

No, he's doing it in San Francisco! The only crimes there are heterosexual people getting married, smoking, and not aborting your babies. Also, happy meals.

Anywhoo, those are cool.

I almost pity the person seen using those as an ashtray.

If you break a window it's considered "violence"

I first read that as "pole dancer" and was intrigued. Then I reread it and saw "pole gardener," which made me think of planting Cheerios as doughnut seeds.

A Denver woman began fastening containers to posts and trees in parks, with signs urging people to fill them with plastic grocery bags, and to use them for dog waste. It caught on, big time. Containers everywhere now, and a lot less dog poop. The city actually spent money to build and install more permanent boxes in heavily used parks.

Vandal what?

I would prefer using parking meters to impale tourists who come to SF and then biatch endlessly about how it isn't exactly like home.

Or the auslanders who move here from some gated WASP-filled HOA ghetto and then try to turn the city into what they just left.

For fark's sake, if you don't like it here, stay the fark away. There are plenty of us who like it and won't try to kill what makes it home. So let us crazy dope-smoking cock-sucking baby-killing hippies do our thing until GAWD kills us all with another earthquake, and you can stay in your beige world until GAWD kills you off with a tornado or a flood or a dust storm.

/if we got a quarter for every stupid shortsighted ignorant asshole comment about SF, we wouldn't NEED parking meters
//or property tax or sales tax
