Opportunity fail Subby Surely there was a joke about a cougar being drugged in Reno and waking up in the desert that could have been made.

Grand Sierra Resort is a lot nicer now than anything downtown.

Heh, downtown Reno needs some excitement...

What do you mean Harrah's? Reno is a dump!

I didn't see anything in the article about a revolving door. Or am I missing a joke?

Guess I'll stick with Lion until they have all these bugs worked out.

A cougar found in her natural habitat (other than at PTA meetings).

Time to devolve into a men vs. women statutory rape thread with pics of hot cougars....

I liked the Silver Legacy, and the Atlantis is OK. The bad thing about Reno is finding good food.

I enjoyed the Top Gear episode where they did a road trip from San Francisco to the Bonneville Salt Flats. As a Northern Californian, I've done that trip half a dozen times.

"Reno: It's like Las Vegas, but smaller and worse."

Yeah, pretty much. It's not so bad, though. More enjoyable than 80 percent of the resort towns in the USA, IMHO. There's good skiing nearby. I prefer South Lake Tahoe because of a) the lake b) more skiing nearby c) more outdoor activities in the summer, because it's not in the middle of a friggin' desert.

Andy Garcia???

By the way that was one of the worst accents in movie history, made me question why his character even had an accent, he didn't have a back story, just lazy writing to distract you from the crappy writing

but hey, to each his own if you like it it's all good.

Yes, but the all you can eat sushi bar downstairs is pretty good.

Not even Harrisburg. Like Oberlin or Steelton.

Downtown Reno is a dump. Last time I walked around dowtown Reno I was hit up for money by at least 4 bums.

Until the RPD starts running the bums off, Virginia street will remain a craphole.

Sorry to see this happen to my home town.

Harrah's is a dump, Atlantis is OK and so is the Peppermill. I found Grand Sierra to be overwhelmingly meh, actually. Easily the worst breakfast buffet in Reno.

Until last month you were right, I am at their buffet right now its f***ing spectacular. They are doing a relaunch this weekend. They poured $50 million into the place and it shows.

A friend of mine made the fireworks run from San Francisco to an Indian Reservation about 2 hours from Reno. We were going to stay at Pyramid Lake, get drunk, and light off some of our new prizes.

It was a little cold for early June, so we decided we would head into Reno and make a night of it before heading home the next day. Sadly, Reno sucks. No fun, no party, just over the hill, chain smoking gamblers. We even hit the trendy bars about a mile from the casinos. All empty on Saturday night.

Fark Reno.

No issues in Chrome for me, but it was 30 seconds of an animal control officer looking at a tranquilized animal. Didn't miss anything.

Downtown is crap. Whatever they call "midtown" has some good food, like Midtown Eats and Süp, Campo is ok (but maybe tries too hard). Just don't go too far north unless it's for the awful afwul at the Little Nugget. The rock climbing walls at Comm Row are cool if you're in to that sort of thing, but their parking garage was a nightmare of a rape trap the last time I was there. Otherwise the P-mill, Atlantis and probably now the post-renovation GSR are where people are likely to go, especially locals. The Silver Legacy was a resort that probably would have never been built if the project owners would have paid attention that downtown was going downhill so fast.
