(Yahoo)   Paul Ryan had better hope Romney wins, because he can forget about ever being elected in Wisconsin again after voluntarily waving a "terrible towel" at a GOP rally in Pennsylvania   (news.yahoo.com) divider line 221

That'll really cheese off those Green Bay fans.

2012-08-24 12:06:36 PM
I've never seen a place so rabidly retarded about a football team than Wisconsin is about their Packers. This is worse than a rape abortion for them. Probably. They're drunk so that might change.

ManateeGag: That'll really cheese off those Green Bay fans.

To be fair: Mike McCarthy is from Pittsburgh.

/To not be fair: Dan Rooney is Obama's ambassador to Ireland.

2012-08-24 12:28:22 PM
Despite the pressure from Wisconsinites and members of the media, he refused to don the famous cheesehead, the cap of Green Bay Packers fans.

Talk about a no-win situation for Paul.

Either look like a buffoon to the rest of the nation, or lose votes for his congressional seat in Wisconsin.

Of course he could have also refused to touch the terrible towel.

So he's waving around a towel with shiat written on it? This is what fans do?

At least Obama has the courage of his convictions to remain a Bears/White Sox fan even when he is in other cities

No, just those ones. They seem to think it's intimidating when in fact it just makes them look like overweight Southern Belles.

2012-08-24 01:14:22 PM
But he's 100% Wisconsin! He swears.

Terrible Towels are made in Ryan's district, so this isn't betrayal.

This article is for crap, that was Santorum, as the previous sentence said:

In April, then presidential candidate Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator and lifelong Steelers fan, made a campaign trip to Wisconsin.

Something doesn't flow right, I had to read it 3 times in a row to figure it out myself. It states later that Ryan is a "lifelong Packers fan", so while I at first thought this was a non-story, I now realize that it's just shameless pandering which is annoying, and usually offensive to those being pandered to, once they realize it. Fark this Ryan dude.

2012-08-24 01:15:58 PM
Paul Ryan could learn a lesson from Rick Santorum.

Um...

PACKERRRRRRS!

You have to understand: There is absolutely *nothing* to do in/around GB. To have the most-storied NFL franchise in such a place is so farking weird that it drives everyone to madness. A good madness, but madness nonetheless.

Come for tfa, stay for the retarded comments.

You're dead to me.

2012-08-24 01:17:40 PM
oh its already news here in cheeseland. As i said in a facebook thread about it. President Obama is a die hard Bears fan. He will come here and joke around about the Packers, hell he even in a speech said he wished the Bears had Rodgers instead of Mr. Emoception (Cutler to those who dont go to Fark on NFL threads) But I highly doubt I'd ever see him in a cheese head on stage here in WI. I'm almost sure he'd never put on another jersey except for his home teams. Come on Paul...Wisconsin raised you better than to wave the colors of the opposing team.

I'm sure you have.

marius2: So he's waving around a towel with shiat written on it? This is what fans do?

Yeah? It's a pretty non-offensive way of unifying the fans. It could be worse, they could be vuvuzelas.

That said, SOME people don't wash their terrible towels, either ever, or for the duration of the season. Terrible towels are often soaked with old beer and filth by the end of a season.

/at least they're hoopy enough froods to know where their towels are

There are no rape abortions, women can only get pregnant when they want to. It's called ovulation, look it up.

"Different sports teams have different fun little behaviors that are totally harmless. More on this startling revelation at 11"

/ well... when I say "totally harmless" I'm naturally excluding The Dawg Pound, Raiders fans and the entire city of Philadelphia....

Now can we please get back to the issues that really matter, like the ethical implications of Paul Ryan's netflix queue? Or maybe what he has on his iPod?

Seriously. We know where you're from. We know what team you root for or are likely to root for. Just man up, show your colors and take the heat for it. Nobody's going to vote against you for rooting for the wrong team. But people will sure as hell vote against you for being a slimy little panderer.

Always bring your towel.

It's a TERRIBLE towel, and it's TERRIFYING to the opposing team.

To be fair, the Romney team asked him to flip-flop on the towel issue.

This only proves how farking stupid football fans can be. Around here, whenever I hear someone scream "how 'bout them dawgs!!" I know I'm hearing a redneck who has never darkened a door at UGA.

It could have been worse. He could have gone and said positive things about Penn State. That'll piss off the rest of us in the Big Ten.
