Man I wanted to bang Shelly Long back in the 80s.

Fat guys age well, and John Ratzenberger looked kind of old even in the 80s.

However, Kelsey Grammer aged much better than someone of his drunkenness usually does.

And who knew that Woody Harrelson would have the best post-Cheers career?

I guess a case could be made for Kelsey Grammer, but Woody is the only one who really made the leap to films successfully.

Hey, maybe most of 'em saw what happened to Shelly Long and decided to play it safe.

Although, it's a good thing she left when she did. For the show, not her. The show never would have survived a wedding and another year or two of the Sam and Diane show.

Woody: "What's going on,Mr Peterson?"

There was an episode in the fourth season where Frasier was getting back on the dating horse after Diane.

His first date was Lilith. His second date of the episode was a young Jennifer Tilly.

I mention this only because the hotness of a young Bebe Neuwirth and Jennifer Tilly in the same episode is... well... damn.

Frasier's crazy wife, whatever her name is, looks good.

2012-08-24 03:19:54 PM
But... they didn't?
Woody aged the best from the guys and Bebe Neuwirth from the ladies.

Hell wasn't he a huge coke head as well? I seem to remember him getting busted or something like that.

I watched this episode just last night. I didn't recognize Tilly. Let's just say she didn't have her spectacular rack back then.

Bang Shelly Long in the '80s? We all would. It's just getting back to the '80s that's the tricky part.

CSB

Years ago, maybe 15, I saw Bebe Neuwirth on Broadway in the revival of Chicago.

As she enters the stage, some tourist type in the row in front of me cups his mouth and shouts:

"Hey Lilith!! Where's Frasier???"

During a Broadway show!!!! Sigh!!

It's just so freaking weird to me that teenagers today will always look at Woody and think "Haymitch!" When people my age (currently mid-30s) will always look at him and think "Woody!"

I was thinking the same thing. Also, I was thinking that a lot of the list aged better than Norm. He doesn't look bad, but not as good as some of the others.

I always wondered if they drank real beer on the set of Cheers... They couldn't have, right? Everybody would've been blitzed out of their minds with multiple takes.

That's no doubt. Even in Natural Born Killers I kept thinking, "Why Woody? What did those people ever do to you? Did Sam give you bad drugs or something?"

According to Tom Reeder (one of the show's writers), it was "near beer".

They didn't. They drank near-beer, but don't forget, the only people that were drinking were Cliff and Norm and Fraser. Sam was a recovering alcoholic, and Woody, Carla, and Rebecca were working.

FTFA: You may not have SEEN a lot of Ratzenberger, but he's lent his voice to several children's films over the years: "Brave," "Cars," "Toy Story," "WALL-E" and "Up".

I believe Ratzenberger has been in every Pixar movie.

Note to self: feed the mayonnaise directly to Shelley Long.

True. If they managed to get Shelley to stay on, I have little doubt "Cheers" would've imploded like "Moonlighting" did.

They never tell us where Coach is these days. And this thread is useless without pictures of Paul. And Kelly. And Robin Colcord. And that dude who was trying to steal Woody's girlfriend.
/Was Kelly the only hot regular ever on that show? Diane had a stick up her ass, Rebecca was too whiny, and Lilith was too lesbianed for me.

I'd give a hearty recommendation for "The Village Barbershop". Nice little independent film starring Ratzenberger.

The writing was peerless, and the whole thing was almost perfectly cast. Just put Diane, Frasier, Harry the Hat and the 'French' photographer against a wall and you'd have an excellent show.
