It would be nice if the article had a quote/citation/proof of some kind. I love how it indicates what the President will do so they are also wizards apparently.

Let's get this straight: Most Americans *want* the European economy to collapse, thereby triggering a world-wide recession/depression, if it means ending our constitutional crisis of having a black man in the oval office.

Ok?

Barack Obama asks eurozone to keep Greece in until after election day

The Obama administration will pressure European governments not to let Greece fall out of the eurozone before November's Presidential elections, British Government sources have suggested.

That's some mighty fine reporting there, Lou. And by "fine" I mean "disingenuous and lame".

Something else a desperate President may say: "Let your friends know how important this election is to you. Instead of another gift card you'll forget to use, ask your friends and family for something that will go a little further: a donation for Obama for America."

I think some of the believe it the Eurozone collapses, we can go back to the days of our awesome, like after most of Europe's industrial capacity was devastated after WWII.

I think it shows that the loose confederation doesn't work as well in practice as they would like to think.

This is how international politics have always worked:

European Union has an issue it must tackle.
Meanwhile, its largest political ally is holding its presidential election in the same time frame.
If the EU acts a certain way before that date, the more EU-friendly candidate would be damaged.
Therefore, the EU adjusts to help out that candidate.
That candidate now owes the EU a solid if re-elected.

How many times have countries, especially us, aided a particular political figure in another country for their own gain? This literally happens all over the world, multiple times a day. It's only a controversy if you're the one not being helped.

FTFA: The Obama administration will pressure European governments not to let Greece fall out of the eurozone before November's Presidential elections, British Government sources have suggested.

American officials are understood to be worried
that if they decide Greece has not done enough to meet its deficit targets and withhold the money, it would automatically trigger Greece's exit from the eurozone weeks before the Presidential election on 6 November.

Are these what Wikipedia would describe as "weasel words?"

It's complete conjecture and don't pretend this is all of the sudden going to shift your support away from the President, it was never there in the first place and the fact you pick up so strongly on this random insinuation just further proves that.

Yeah, desperate. That's how the Obama campaign is coming off. Sure. But back here in reality Romney and the GOP are getting pounded week in and week out. Can't control the conversation, can't handle the hits, making a gaffe an hour some days. The president is a political jedi, setting traps, landing punches. It's like an Olympic gymnast dancing and backflipping around a couple of special needs kids sitting in the middle drooling on themselves.

But desperate. Yeah.
