I suppose with the dwindling food supply (ie. People) in Detroit the bugs have to more persistent to stay fed.

I had court at the 36th recently and i was assigned to a room that seats probably 30 people.. there must have been 60 with a 9:00 A.M. court date. The room filled and the line went out into the hall into a bigger crowd that was mixed with the next court room over having the same problem. At least half of the people there were not dressed to see a judge they were wearing what they woke up in

not a cool story, just an over filled court house

...it's not yet clear what kind of bugs were on the man - indicating that they also could have been cockroaches or fleas.

We'll blame the misunderstanding on the fact that you've never been to Detroit.

I seriously don't want to know. Bugs (not spiders - don't mind them because they eat bugs) freak me out for some inexplicable reason.

This is what I look like the instant a bug appears:

I can understand bed bugs, because they are pretty small. Anything larger and I would expect you would at least notice from the skin irritation alone.

Glad some other people noticed. Based on this one sampling, the accusation that the Tea Party/Republican Party are mainly opposed to Obama due to racism is in fact an accurate accusation.

This is the headline that gets greened? It isn't even accurate, FFS. He didn't just shut down the trial, they closed the entire freaking court until it could be exterminated.

*sigh*

I sometimes think that there are no modmins, and that Mike just wrote a script to randomly execute modmin-like behaviors. He'd do that sort of thing, you know. He's funny like that. :)

If it wasn't Detroit, we'd have to pick on a third world nation. This is much friendlier.

I figured this was pretty much par for the course in Detroit? I'm pretty sure they don't have running water there, so how was he supposed to shower to keep the bugs away?

Yup, they're actually GOOD multilegged-critters, they eat other bugs...do have to admit they look freaky, though. :D

Far less of them this year, though...what with it being a dry summer (and overt drought in Goddamn Indiana) I expect it's not been as good hunting as last year (when we'd get HUEG ones in the house, enough that it genuinely gave me the hooboojeebies). So apparently they eat stuff that's more common in humid conditions...

SlagginOff: I figured this was pretty much par for the course in Detroit? I'm pretty sure they don't have running water there, so how was he supposed to shower to keep the bugs away?

Now now, this is Detroit, not Appalachia :D It's my understanding that Detroit DOES have running water in the non-abandoned properties, it just has to be boiled for ten minutes or run through a filter with UV light to destroy the microbes :D

(Seriously, there are places in Appalachia that still define "running water" as "stuff what flows in the creek", and still use outhouses. Yes, Virginia, there are worse-off places than Detroit, and they are called "Deep Appalachia" and "Certain First Nations reservations out west like Pine Ridge".)
