teeny: Sorry. The fact that he assigned his lawyers the job of making sure Ron Paul gets no voice at the convention while at the same time inviting Donald Trump to take part in whatever idiotic show they have planned only solidifies my opinion that Rmoney is a douche.

Trump has a better handle on reality.

So vote Democrat.

Also, Republicans generally will not vote for libertarians.

IMHO, I wish that Ron Paul had the guts to run as a libertarian. It seems that Republicans take the libertarian votes for granted sometimes. I may not agree with Ron Paul but he has brought up significant topics and brings something different to the table than most politicians. The libertarians need to expand on their ticket and not try to mesh with "the closest thing."

'Cos Republicans are "dun-dun-dun dun-dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun dun-dun-dun-dun" and libertarians are "dun-dun-dun dun-dun-dun-dun, DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN dun-dun-dun-dun," so they're totally different.

Saiga410: mat catastrophe: That part of it fairly libertarian, but if you look at what Ron Paul and many other libertarians say, it appears they would be fine with state-level bans on abortion, or birth control, or whatever - which is the point that Zerochance made above.

On a conversation on federal powers????? OMFG shut everything down. Now ask any libertarian friend on whether your state and your local should have the power and most will say no.

Unless my "libertarian" friends are elected officials it does not matter what they say. The ones in power are neo-confederates who have an agenda to use the "limited government" malarkey as a backdoor to a states' rights system.

Of course Ron Paul won't speak. The RNC can't allow a Republican who actually says what believes in front of cameras to get air time at the convention. People might get a half-assed accurate look at the GOP if Paul is allowed to speak and that can't happen.

Honestly, the exclusionary, ideology-first presentation we're going to see IS the accurate GOP. Ron Paul would do well to use the chance to split off into something new. And maybe viable. Maybe.

meat0918: So the Paulistinians won't be voting for Romney or Obama.

Who will they vote for, or will they just sit this election out vote Republican as always?

FTFY

I guess it all depends on the Paul supporter. The neo-anarchist malcontents will either write in RON PAUL or sit it out; the closeted Republicans are voting for Romney, they're just telling you they wrote in RON PAUL or sat it out.

I love that picture.

I say we let the poor guy be president of something. He looks so sad.

Maybe he can be the President of Cheese, or the President of Breakfast Cereals. Perhaps the President of Intersections Where You Cannot Turn Right On Red.

So where did that happen that Ron Paul was asked what he wanted other than being nominated? You know. Boat, car, cabinet position?

And he said, "To live in a free country."
