Now?

If she says she won't drop out... he should insist more forcefully. Sometimes when broads say no, all they want is for the man to become more aggressive and turn that no into a yes.

What the...ohhhhhhh. A Rasmussen poll.

2012-08-23 04:46:44 PM
A lottery of all registered voters to pick members of congress is looking better and better. With all the examples no one can worry about people not knowing what to do or being stupid because the picks can not be worse than what is already there.

2012-08-23 04:54:50 PM
So, Akin's response was essentially "NO U"? Really?

2012-08-23 04:55:18 PM
She's offended, he's offended, all politicians are the same. So vote Republican rugged independent.

"If she can't break 50 percent after a week like this, Democrats should ask Claire to step down."

[howaboutno?]

I'm pretty sure Claire McCaskill can safely disregard any helpful suggestions proffered by the increasingly unhinged Akin campaign.

Obvious troll is painfully obvious.

2012-08-23 05:11:46 PM
She responded by waving her fingers around him while chanting "Not touching you, not touching you, not touching you, not touching you."

2012-08-23 05:21:49 PM
If she really wanted to, her campaign has ways of shutting that whole thing down.

2012-08-23 05:32:16 PM
Before, he could point at the scoreboard. Now that he's down ten points to her, he's doing the equivalent of pointing at the clock and shouting "THIS ISN'T OVER!"

If Akin causes conservative MO voters to stay home -- not likely, but vaguely possible if his support drops enough -- and Romney loses Missouri because of it, I will farking lose it laughing. If that happens, Romney could win Florida, Ohio, Virginia, AND Wisconsin and still lose.

2012-08-23 05:54:05 PM
Just wait until confused voters in other Missouri districts vote for the D because they think their R is Akin...

Is he bragging about how unelectable he is now?

Very nice.

LOL, remember when someone asked him if he would drop out and his reply was "well, we looked at the polls and we're still winning by a few points."

I wonder what he would say now... nevermind, I know what he would say..... "my opponent should drop out of the race, otherwise this will be very very very difficult for me!"

There's still time for him to be replaced by court order.... does anyone know how that works? Could the McCaskill campaign challenge it? I'm not even sure what "court order" means in this context, like if he commits a crime or gets ill or whatever?

I've found elementary school students can manage a more logical, fact based argument than anything the GOP has put out the last 4 years.

You've got to be kidding me, right?

This is a man who is on the House Science Committee. A, ostensibly, educated person who is making decisions at the highest levels of Government in the United States.

And he spouts off with something like this? Really?

Republicans no longer have any right to complain about the characterization of their party by the words of the Akins and Huckabees of the United States. They are guilty of the exact same gambit they were calling every unpopular group out on over the last ten to eleven years, while pretending not to be characterized by these people.

Guess what, skippy. Your group is defined by the actions of the few who are viable to the media. If you were actually the party of Lincoln, and actually gave a damn about being portrayed as anything more than this, you would be screaming to the top of your lungs, from the highest mountain, how this man is an idiot. How he does not represent the values of the republican party.

This was not a gaff. This was not a one time deal. This person actually believes the tripe he said.

impaler:
Just wait until confused voters in other Missouri districts vote for the D because they think their R is Akin...

I think you underestimate how loyal the average male republican voter is to his own kind.

2012-08-23 06:54:11 PM
His comments came after pollster Rasmussen released a survey showing him trailing McCaskill 48 percent to 38 percent in Missouri's Senate race..."The fact that Claire McCaskill is only polling at 48 percent after 72 hours of constant negative attacks on Todd Akin shows just how weak she is,"

Isn't that something like a 16 or 18 point swing?

Oh, yeah, McCaskill's goose is clearly cooked...drop out before you embarrass yourself, sweetheart

Anything to stick it to those dirty demorat libs...

This can't be emphasized enough. He apologized for his "poor choice of words", but guess what? He's NOT changing any of his policies, and he STILL doesn't want abortion as an option for women who are raped. Words are irrelevant, just look at his stance on these issues... they're absolutely medieval.

The only thing he's sorry about is that everyone else made a big deal about what he believes.

Two more weeks- he just needs to stay in the race for two more weeks. That's all I ask.

"If she can't break 50 percent after a week like this, Democrats should ask Claire to step down.

She should be beating us by more than this and if she isn't then she sucks? This is a strategy?

In related news, the "Yea" and "Nay" voting buttons in the House will now be labeled "I'm rubber, you're glue" and "I know you are, but what am I?"

I think Akin, Jr. is advocating voter fraud.

"...we will close this gap and win in November with the support of the grassroots in Missouri and across America."

This is not all that different than the asshats who want to outlaw late term and partial birth abortion because they don't want to acknowledge that pregnancies can go horribly wrong or sometimes pregnant women get seriously sick or injured. To them, ladyparts are simultaneously disgusting and magical.

Maybe, but under Akin's rules, she won't be able to abort the election.

Akin needs to go on a ' fact finding mission ' which includes a few nights in the cells with Bubba, to find the real meaning of the word rape.

/ He'll soon be swallowing more than his pride.
