What they haven't told you is that Rick Scott has declared that Florida's electoral votes will be awarded based on the results of the candidates' 500m dash.

Get back to me after the conventions and debates. At that point I'll start paying attention to the horse race.

So Ryan moved the polls 2% in Wisc., which is consistent with the poll movement nationally.

Here's a shocker - it will move again in Romney's favor during the RNC. But then will break back for Obama during the DNC. Then will drift back towards romney a little later. None of the previous indicate that the race has changed at all during that time period.

I've been listening to the NPR Morning Edition article on Wisconsin all week long, and all I can figure out about Wisconsinites is...

They are profoundly retarded.

They spoke to a dairy farmer who derided "big government" ....WHILE RECEIVING FARM SUBSIDIES.
Farking morans.
I tried submitting links, but the asshole mods are too busy greenlighting right wing blogs and Breitbart.

I was listening to that too. I liked today when they were interviewing the woman who said the government doesn't need to provide funding to make contraception available for women because you can get it for free from so many places. I face-palmed so hard when I heard that.

And yesterday they did some interviews with people at one of Romney's rallies who were all fired up about Obama removing the work requirement of welfare reform and when the interviewer pointed out that wasn't true, the person just said those "fact checkers" can't be trusted.

It's not wisconsinites, it's pretty anyone willing to vote Republican who isn't a hedge fund manager.

yeah, those interviews have been very disturbing... but I guess it's nothing we already didn't know. I mean, just one state over there's a county that keeps re-electing Michelle Bachmann. Not just electing, but RE-electing.

This also begets the question of how many real life FARK Independents™ are skewing poll results. A few weeks ago NPR had a report on swing voters in battleground states, and they had a lady from Pennsylvania - a nurse - who described herself as an "independent" but was voting Romney because she was "very concerned" that "we're headed towards European Socialism".

Yeah, but isn't Wisconsin solidly Democrat? I get that the VP pick always comes with a bump, so does the convention, and FFS, the media was calling it an "embarrassing victory" when Romney barely won Michigan, but it is disconcerting to see Romney gaining traction in Wisconsin.

But then again, at this rate, Akin may help putting Missouri into play.

Love this line of thinking. Every Bob the Ice Cream Store Owner thinks Mitt Romney is going to ride in and make it legal to pay your employees $1.46/hour and fire your teenage cashier if she doesn't throw you a handy every couple of weeks. All while implementing a Coldplay-style "Pay-What-You-Feel" tax code. Right.

Small business owners: You are in the same boat as the rest of us Can-Only-Dream-Of-Being-Millionaires. And you will be in the same boat as us under President Romney, biatches. Either run your business well or step aside so someone else can do it.

They had a story on "All Things Considered" yesterday afternoon about the "Taking the work requirement out of Welfare" talking point Romney is still using in stump speeches. It's been thoroughly debunked by every metric, yet he keeps using it. Why?

Well, because it confirms what the GOP base "believes" about welfare. Even when presented with evidence that it's complete bullshiat, these people just dismiss the evidence and continue to believe "those people" are getting handouts for being lazy. There's also a racial undertone to this.

Interesting piece.

Despite Fact Checks, Romney Escalates Welfare Work Requirement Charge

Highlights:

"We think that the fact that the work requirement has been taken out of welfare is the wrong thing to do," said Peggy Testa, attending a Tuesday rally near Pittsburgh for Romney running mate Rep. Paul Ryan.

When told that's not actually what had happened, Testa replied: "At this point, don't know exactly what is true and what isn't, OK? But what I do know is I trust the Romney-Ryan ticket, and I do not trust Obama."

Pam Malcolm, who attended a Romney rally outside of Cleveland a few months ago, agreed.

"I really don't want to help somebody who just decides, 'Oh, well, I was raised on welfare. I can raise my children on welfare,' " Malcolm said. "I had a cousin who, she is a registered nurse and the stories she told me about people coming in there and having babies just so they could get more on their food stamps and more on their welfare. It's like no, I don't want to take care of those people."

Unfortunately those details turned out to be "personhood" and ending Medicare.
