It's pretty easy to do actually, at least on a small scale wear dark glasses and a baseball cap.  Kind of scurry around a bit looking like you don't want to be bothered.

I would have gone the evil route and tried to score some sex.

So he went around Times Square and 42nd street and found stupid people. These are the same idiots who pay money to have their pictures taken with homeless people dressed up in Disney Costumes.

Funnier if he had tried that up in Harlem, Queens or even Tribeca. The film would have been more about people ignoring him.

I came here to see all the comments from New Yorkers about how it was tourists fooled and not actual New Yorkers because they are too smart to be fooled.

That and to see how many people start their comments with "I'm from New York so...".

I had this idea when I was about 13, and it makes me feel kinda sad that someone almost a decade older still "wondered" about that and wasted money seeing if it was true.

P.T. Barnum would be amazed at his underestimation.

It's not that New Yorkers are too smart to be fooled, it's that New Yorkers see celebrities all the time, so they generally don't freak out. That's also part of the reason celebrities like to move to New York, because they can have an almost normal life.

Pretty much this. I would imagine it's the same for people who live/work in LA or other celebrity-magnet towns.
