G: This is just an assumption, but might you like to set one of your future movies to Japan as well?

W: Yes, it would be very cool if I could! I'd love to have a story set in Cleveland but do the filming in Japan.

Genius! Let's film somewhere that costs 10 times as much as the actual location. I'm going to propose a movie set in Vancouver and film it in San Francisco.

If they just take the animated shows away from Jeph Loeb, everything will be fine.

/and maybe hire Bruce Timm and Paul Dini away from WBDC, where they're underappreciated.

It's so strange; Jeph Loeb used to be one of my favorite writers. Now when I see his name on something (comic book-wise) I tend to stay away from it.

/except his return to Wolverine, but I'm still pretty apprehensive about it so far

1.- Paul Dini is already working with Marvel.
2.- Bruce Timm is not "underappreciated" at DC.
3.- Shut your whore mouth. Timm belongs to DC so they can keep putting those awesome movies.

Those are the only awesome movies DC can put up these days. Anything live action comes up and DC instantly FUBARs it; like a reflex action or something.

Take a look at the state of DC Comics, then look at Joe Quesada.

Doesn't seem so bad now, does he?

Although, Marvel's sales are dropping and his go-to guys like Bendis don't pack the punch they used to. Quesada has been in office for a decade or so... it probably is time for him to step down. Even Jim Shooter didn't last this long, and Shooter's era was way better than Quesada's.

Oh I'm not disagreeing with this; I still harbor ill-will with Quesada over "OMD" but compared to the clusterfark on DC at this point Quesada's alright.

And yes DC fanboys: it's a clusterfark. When a lot of the hardcore DC fanbase they've had over the years is walking away from what the Didiot has created, you've got a major problem on your hands. Even worse, the likes of Jim Lee and Liefeld are walking away from DC. That's right, Lee and Liefeld walking away from a guaranteed paycheck. That's not normal, even for those two.

Sidebar: The only reason they're doing the Superman/Wonder Woman relationship is because of the "new 52"-verse they're in.

I haven't seen all of his work, notably the recent Avengers flick, but I don't like Whedon's stuff. He seems to use the same characters under different names and specializations. It was enjoyable the first time, but boring as shiat, since.

My biggest concern these days revolves around Deadpool. They couldn't have screwed up a character more. Does Fox still own the rights though? I'm sure they do. They did a good job with X-Men First Class though, so there's always hope for a reboot.

Since Spider-Man and X-Men are just too huge to let go, the best Marvel can hope to get back in the near future is Fantastic Four.

He was half-way decent earlier in the movie. Ryan Reynolds is a good choice to play him, in my opinion. But yeah, once they closed his mouth and had 4' swords coming out of his arms (which apparently could bend with his elbow?), not to mention giving him Cyclops' powers for no reason, that's when I wanted to start breaking things.

He might be a tough movie character to write though, because the general population doesn't know him very well. You have to tell a good origin story to be successful. I think the biggest surprise hit Marvel has made so far was Thor. Never would've guessed a movie about a demi-god could be done so well.

Ya, Thor was definitely Marvel's biggest hurdle. The one character who's backstory could short circuit the brains of the general public. Now, to them, he's that cool Avenger guy with the hammer and the evil brother. They can almost do whatever they want in his follow up movies. Even reduce his time on Earth.

It doesn't matter what happens to the X-Men series because nobody really gives a fark about continuity. The original X-Men trilogy was bad enough but they had to fark it up even more with Wolverine Origins and then threw the everything out the window with X-Men First Class.

The whole thing has been written, re-written and rebooted so many times that at this point they could have Xavier adopting Magneto who then takes Storm as a wife but also has an affair with Emma Frost who gives birth to Nightcrawler. Then you'd see tons of people who don't know any better would think that it's genius.

I agree that they got Deadpool absolutely, 100% wrong, but I think they nailed Wade Wilson perfectly. Sure, he had like three lines, but they were ALL lines I could hear him saying in the comics and the were delivered perfectly. And sadly 'Pool is still in Fox's pocket because somehow he's included with the "X-Men" film rights. Though this may lead to meta-on-meta if Marvel decides to simply swap out Deadpool for Agent X, a character who was created when it looked like Marvel might lose the comic rights to Deadpool.

And yeah, I think a lot of haters didn't realize how good they had it with Tom Jane as Punisher considering he was preceded by Dolph Lundgren and proceeded by the line "Some days I'd like to get my hands on GOD!!!!"

I read an article a week or two ago. Marvel Studios may be in talks with Fox. Fox wants DD back to do a gritty Milleresque DD, so Marvel is supposedly willing to give them DD in return for the rights to F4, SS, etc...

Not to discount the contribution of the brilliant Marvel artists to individual series, it was Stan Lee that tied the Marvel Universe together and gave each character greater depth by existing in a broader cohesive world. This is a brilliant move for a studio managing multiple franchises. Instead of being just the next Hulk or Thor or Ant-Man movie it will be the next Marvel movie with even more audience crossover.

The rumors said that a new DD movie had to be started in September or the rights would revert. In exchange for extending that deadline for a couple of years, the rights to GALACTUS and the Silver Surfer would revert to Marvel. FF wasn't on the table.

And that deal is officially dead. DD reverted to Marvel, Fox kept the FF and Galactus/Silver Surfer. In terms of the box office value I would say Fox got the better deal, but I would love to see Marvel get the rights back to the whole shebang. You can do a Thanos movie without the Surfer, but it just wouldn't feel right.

DC needs to hand over the movie rights to guys like Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti. Vietti in particular has shown himself to be adept at keeping the right tone.
