(Some Comedy Guy)   Howard Stern is king of all media because he's funny, smart, and picks enemies superbly. "The FCC. Leno. Imus. Ellen. Rosie. Dr. Laura. Sherri Shepherd. Andy Dick. When you see that list it's hard not to take his side"   (kenlevine.blogspot.com) divider line 101

Howard Stern is not funny. His list is correct, though.

I'll say this about Howard, he is one of the best interviewers I've listened to. He asks questions we all want to ask, and usually gets his guests to spill their guts.

I hated when he went to satellite. I miss his show. I couldn't do satellite radio though, too much of a hassle because my jobsite changes almost daily, and sometimes more than once a day.

Agreed. I don't laugh much at his jokes, but he can be interesting to listen to.

I remember one of the few times I watched that Talent show, he was the only one willing to tell the little six-year-old NO. The other two were fawning over her, and saying how cute she was and how amazing she was for being only six. And Howard is looking at them like, "WTF?"

He even put it pretty gently...they let the girl through to Vegas, but he took a bigger stand on her second performance emphasizing the words "for a SIX-YEAR-OLD". In a competition of six-year-olds she would win, but if even a 10-year-old did the same exact act we'd tell her to stop clowning around.

Is there some dark, evil side of Ellen I've been missing out on? Because she seems like one of the kindest people around.

But yeah, the rest of that list can DIAF.

2012-08-22 06:18:21 PM
Howard Stern is a moron. Every time it sounds like he's going to give a good interview, he starts talking about having sex with the interviewee's mother. It gets old. It's lowest common denominator bullshiat, and people end up stupider for having listened to him.

Apparently she threatened to quit American Idol if they hired Howard.

Also... he stuck up for her and Rosie when those stupid christian groups tried to get their sponsors boycotted for the whole gay thing.

Will always have a soft spot for Stern.

2012-08-22 06:26:34 PM
His interviews are always good. There are some "ugh" moments when you can tell he tries to hard with the hot interviews with the constant bugging questions of anal sex and "how many times do you doodie in a week?"

I actually liked when they moved to Sirius back when Artie was on the show. Since he's gone, I don't listen like I used to, mainly because you can hear his frustration with the company, and it becomes a bit repetitive.

...wtf is this? Do you not understand what 'satellite' means?

And I'll add my vote to 'never found him funny', but he was coming to power when I was in junior high, and I was in the throes of a hard-core religious conservative bent (which, sadly for all of you, I have long since lost or overcome depending on your view), and lived in a small town in East Texas, so wasn't exactly his target demo.

Tell them how great I am Robin!!!

Seriously he is very good at interviewing people. His William Shatner interview a few months ago was very tasteful and well done. Also had a great talk with an intern a few weeks ago who's mom was an intern on his show. He was actually humbled for a few minutes. Then asked if the mom looked hot still.

kroonermanblack: ...wtf is this? Do you not understand what 'satellite' means?

Right, but I could have it in my truck, where I could only hear it while driving, or I could also have to buy an additional radio to put this delicate contraption in and move it around to construction sites with dust and other shiat flying around in the air, and sometimes no electricity.

A portable radio is just easier. Even now I'm downloading podcasts, but I can't find a suitable player to bring to work. They're either too expensive to risk bringing them to a jobsite, or they don't run on batteries, or they're not loud enough to hear over the power tools.

Seriously? fark Ellen. WTF was this shiat? Why did she take the dog just to give it away? Just because she's rich and fabulous doesn't mean the world exists to bend to her whims. And not because she cries about them on national TV. Fake tears more than likely. Exploiting her fame and in turn exploiting this situation to attain more fame.

Not funny since Jackie left. Used to love the show, taped it, etc., but can't listen to it now. Really tells you how important Jackie was to the show. Like Artie, but he is no Jackie. Not a big fan of JJM standup, but he was a great fit for the show.

When I drove a van for a living I could listen to him almost every morning.

The biggest issue I had was the self-glorification. It was just absurd how much than mans ego NEEDED to be fed by everyone around him.

It was a lot more complicated than that, and it's hard to say that she wasn't trying to do a good thing by giving it to another family. She should have read the fine print on the adoption papers, but calling her a "heartless biatch" is way the hell over the line.

At best, she was naive and she should have thought twice about grabbing a megaphone before saying anything about it. She's still one of the nicest people in the whole damned industry.

Yes, this.

He is the king of nothing, and never has been. I can call myself the king of aardvarks, but that doesn't make it so. I will give him this: He is really good at attention whoring. Not many people can manage to make a living in a dead medium, and he has succeeded in doing that. But please...to say that he is at all relevent to American society is either disingenuous or ignorant.

Oh so much this. I was a huge fan, but then he started becoming what he once mocked. Does he still talk about how great the "smash hit" Private Parts was? It was a good, entertaining film, but it was not great, not a box office smash, and not Oscar worthy.

He was King of Radio, then a best-selling author. He was never king of TV or movies.

Stern & crew were much funnier & more creative when they had to figure out ways to get around the FCC.

Also, submitter should be thanked for linking to Ken Levine's outstanding blog, even tho his Mariners swept the poor, poor Indians today.

Really? She supports and actively donates all her "rich-fame-money" to over 30 charitable foundations, six of which are for the actual ethical treatment of animals (not that fake PETA-attention whoring shiat) and you think that she's a piece of shiat because of THAT!? Your breath must reek of shiat, because you're talking out your ass, sir.

Howard Stern....he's still alive? I don't listen to stupid radio or watch lame c-level talent shows, so I had no idea he was even around. Meh.
