I know there are some out there who may find this difficult to believe but Mr. Harper is kind of a dick.

Oh yeah, he ought to be lined up against a wall and shot! *rolls eyes*

And he did it without a helmet.

Very obvious since Harper does not care about anything other than oil.

It's called a parenthetical phrase and should be surrounded by commas, failmitter.

I'm with Jack Handey on this one: Every time we talk about how fragile our world is, it's just another invitation for the aliens to attack.

I'm no fan of Harper, but the locals are tearing the sh*t out of that place on quads all summer and on sleds in the winter.

This is retarded. The locals drive all over it all the time, snowboard down the dunes... but somehow Harper killed it all with a 5 minute ATV ride. Yea, ok.

Harper's a douchebag, but this has nothing to do with that.

Yah, because the last few elections had provided us with far more suitable candidates to run a country.

the guy is a moran, but he is sure a hell of a lot better than the other options would have been.

It sounds like he was riding off trails instead of on said trails. Yes, if you are a head of state, you should be expected to follow the recommendations instead of acting like the dipsh** locals. Everyone knows that everywhere you go, the locals are usually the most ignorant people around.

In order to protect "fragile ecosystems," every human should be required to stay on the sidewalks (except the ecologists who have their homes in the woods). Then the sidewalks should be torn up to restore the fragile ecosystems. Humans may just have to go, at that point.

Sorry!

Turn the lights out when you die.

I've heard Harper described as a US Republican, as if he was molded out of clay by the GOP in their image and sent to Canada.
Maybe the environment is adapting to his presence.

Canada has elections right? And we can assume that those elections are free and open, I hope.

That means that a majority of Canadians want Harper as President (or Monarch, or whatever the hell you guys have up there).

Face it, North American libs, your guilty conscience may move you to vote Democratic, but deep down you long for a cold-hearted Republican to lower taxes, brutalize criminals, and rule you like a king.

This is the guy who tried to let the Canadian financial sector fail by going with W style banking 'reform'. Cried about the money being lost. Wept about derivatives that Canadians were forbidden to play with.

Canadian banking is stable while the European and American banking sectors are to this day on the verge of total collapse.

Harper must be a very busy man if he is trying to get Canada up to speed.

Not unlike your fine country, elections are not exactly fair. Harper won a majority government with the votes of less than 40% of those that voted. And those that voted represent less than 60% of eligible voters...
Apathy FTW!

What? Do you know how much of the Yukon is private land compared to crown? Also -- Think about how many more people are farking up the Ontario countryside with their "cottages". Then consider how many people live in the Yukon and their comparative ecological impact.

Armchair environmentalism is what it is.

Really? Talk about your hyperbole. Harper would have to shiat radioactive waste to be as evil as people make him out to be. Hes not a saint -- no politician is -- but lets not pretend that the liberals weren't peddling horse shiat with 'out of touch Iggy' and that Jack wasn't the driving force behind the ndp rather than the parties policies.

Not many governing parties over the last 12 elections have won with much more in the way of percentages.

Here's an informative study from SFU on Electoral Reform

This one looks at historical voter turnout.

How is that not fair? Its not like they were forbidden from voting -- or even discouraged from it. In fact im pretty confident that 99% of Canadians were absolutely encouraged to go vote.

If you dont like it go out and vote next time. I did.
