As someone who grew up in Chicago in the 80's... Fuzzy Memories is the greatest video site, ever.

TFA mentions Dr Don Rose, who used to DJ mornings on KFRC in San Francisco back in the 70s when I was a mere pup living in Oakland. He also used to do VO work for UHF station KBHK 44, and sometimes, I remembered hearing him at strange times doing commercials for the Darryl Starbird car shows after we moved back to Oklahoma. Weird how your childhood comes back to haunt you.

Lived in San Jose as a kid , am I remembering right that 44 always had monster movies on during any given weekend? Seemed like they showed every one possible.

We got to watch the morning news in kindergarten. They would always end the news with some film from Vietnam and the death count, and then show the Channel 9 logo. I thought that meant nine o'clock, but it was eight.

If you're from the Tri-State area, anyone remember Channel 11 and kids calling in to scream PIX! PIX! PIX! PIIIX! while clearly someone off-screen hit the fire button?

Man. That and listening to the Quiet Storm late at night on WBLS.... And the weird crazy muzak of WPAT. FM 93.
