That said, shooting protestors MAY not be the best way to support your point.

They're not just against abortion. They're against women having choices, which is something that PP enables in so many ways.

It's like people get into this fervor over things like this where rational thinking leaves and all that's left is rabid, raw emotion. Then again, people that have the time or take the effort to picket someone's HOME generally are devoid of any functioning brain cells anyways.

And protesting outside someone's home is an implied threat, plain and simple. If I saw these people outside my home, the first thing I'd think of is "George Tiller woke up that morning and ate breakfast like it was any other day, too. What if today is the day for me?". And they know it. They publicly wash their hands of anti-choice violence, while holding it like an invisible hammer over the heads of those they protest against.

Would not Florida's stand your ground law be applicable?

If I came home and encountered a crowd on my lawn, carrying sticks, I would feel threatened and feel the need to defend my family, even if I had to reload

I tried to have this argument with my overly conservative father (no good very bad idea), I pulled out the recent numbers from our local PP, where I personally go to get my woman health services because it's all that I can afford... none of that mattered to him. At first he said: My god tells me that all life is sacred... I cut him off and reminded him that we do not live in a Theocracy and again pointed the numbers involving simply women's health services.
So then he went the I'd rather pay for you to go to a real OBGYN than PP to which I responded that he had brought me up to be more bootstrappy than that and I would not accept his handouts (the look on his face while he processed that one was awesome!).

American's moral outrage when it comes to sexuality is second only to Middle Eastern theocracy, yet we not just enjoy, we CELEBRATE acts of violence, aggression, and retribution. But, no, god help our little babies if they see a nipple ... oh the horrors they'll endure while blowing up a school or mowing down a group of people in some GTA-esque act.

That being said, I think we need to get over ourselves ... sex is awesome, sex is great, and honestly, if you don't agree, I invite you to get laid sometime. We should be telling kids how to use a rubber and not telling them their dick is going to fall off if they yank it a few times.

To an extent, I agree. But if the college that I went to could designate certain protest areas, then I think protesting on someone's front lawn should be illegal. I have no problem if you want to protest in front of a business, in a city center, or in a public park, but the minute you disrupt my life on my private property, then we have a problem. There's a world of difference between protesting someone's organization and protesting someone's individual life. The latter I view as falling under harassment.

I heard the actual audio posted to another blog. The woman didn't like Tosh's joke and she kept interrupting him. She was heckling Tosh.

There is no law requiring an audience member to enjoy or laugh at every joke uttered by a comedian, but there is an unwritten rule that if you interrupt a comedian's show you open your self to all manner of nasty comments by the comedian. YouTube is full of videos of comedians going off on hecklers, saying all sorts of nasty things to trip up the heckler and get their show back on track.

Your friend is not a special or unique snowflake. She heckled a comedian over a joke she didn't enjoy, and it resulted in the inevitable conclusion. Now she wants everyone to feel sorry for her. I don't.

Hey, the majority of that snark wasn't really directed at you; it was directed at all of the people repeatedly piling on you with the same damn comments, over and over, without reading the rest of TFT - where they would easily see a plethora of the same sorts of comments.

You know, I was actually trying to be sympathetic towards you - I've spoken some show stopping stupidity in my day, and know that feeling of heat creeping up into your neck and face quite well, thanks.
