Aarontology: Well that's pandering as all hell.

I mean while that's definitely true, and in a perfect world should be rightly criticized, when the opposition is doing everything they can including lying, cheating and stealing, I tihnk that using pandering as a response is a bit lower on the scale o' transgressions. It's still fairly offensive to women, in a sense of "Look we have women we love women", but it's certainly better than "biatches, get'ch'asses in the kitchen, while we pass laws about your unmentionables."

I don't like drawing an equivalence in regards to giving a pass on something, I would love for the (D) to hold their party to the highest standard, but in doing so they would lose almost every election (and you're around a lot, hell you're one of the few I have favorited around here, so you know unfortunately that this is true) and then women actually would be subjugated, given the current trend. I prefer pandering to actual subjugation, in the hopes that the dialogue will improve and neither will be a major part of a party's actions.

I think it'd be entirely impossible. Romney would have to win every state McCain won, plus all the swing states, plus another state Obama carried in 2008

How could they include female speakers that are both familiar to and resonate with voters that wouldn't be perceived as pandering? Women's issues - birth control, abortion, equal pay, protection from domestic abuse - have been at the forefront of this election. We owe it to ourselves to listen to what women are saying about it.

There's a reason the census separates out the Non-Hispanic White category. That aside, I don't think most people think of Tammy Duckworth as white.

You make a bit of a joke, but, its been shown that if they were somehow motivated to actually vote, most current "non-voters" would be overwhelmingly democratic leaning. So, that would be a play to win that back, but, the GOP doesn't play the game that way.

The GOP is the party of "lets try to roll voting rights and rules back to the 1880s", instead of being progressive and making it easier to vote legally and fairly for all (more early voting options, voting on weekends, fair ways to check for voter fraud... i.e., not ID cards that must be paid for).

I've always hated that chart, when it would show up repeatedly at Free Republic, because the women on the Republican side are media personalities (majority), while the women on the Democrat side are actual policy makers and decision makers. Like, the men who put up the comparisons want woman who have no real power except the passive power of commentation and being window dressing. They could have put up any number of Republican women who are decision makers........... but that's not what a man wants.

Again, it's a very demoralizing chart.

White Hispanic: Spanish, Portuguese, etc, people from the geographic region once known as Hispania. No genetics from the Americas.

(Non-white) Hispanic: Central/South American mixed with European, especially in a land conquered by the Spaniards or Portuguese. I can't remember if there's a requirement for Spanish/Portuguese or if it's any European at all.
