When San Francisco is donating heavily to a Republican, you know the incumbent is in deep trouble.

On a side note, how long will it take after Romney is elected for him to get his Nobel Peace Prize?

Interesting to say the least

I wonder what all of its about

New York I can understand, but San Francisco? That place is more liberal than the combination of the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and France.

OMG!

Obama has raised millions from Texas.

TEXAS!!!! What does this mean for Romney?

2012-08-22 08:24:08 AM
FTA: Romney collected at least $630,000 by mid-summer from New York City, the home to major Romney fundraiser and New York Jets owner Woody Johnson. More than $100,000 of that came from investment bankers, who have cooled to Obama since he supported tougher regulations for Wall Street following the financial meltdown and housing crisis in recent years.

The Bay Area is also the home of Dick Boyce, a former partner of Romney's at Bain Capital and a GOP super PAC donor who is active in fundraising for Romney this election.

Imagine that. Large cities with a mostly liberal population still have a few ultra rich conservatives who want to donate to Republican candidates. I guess that means the entirety of those cities has turned against Obama. Better quit now, I guess, President Obama.

FTFA: Donors from tony neighborhoods of Manhattan to even the famously liberal Castro neighborhood in San Francisco helped Romney and the GOP outraise Obama

So...the gay agenda is to get Romney in the White House?

Rmoney is able to get campaign cash from two of the biggest private equity cities in North America? No way.....

It's almost like there are a handful of billionaires who really, really, really want Rmoney to win.

i can't help but notice that you misspelled mitt romney's last name incorrectly the same way twice. just thought i'd point it out because maybe you didn't know how to spell his name or maybe your computer is autocorrecting it wrong or something.

anyway, yeah big cities have rich people of all political persuasions.

You know how when someone spells 0bama with a zero instead of an 'O' and people point out how stupid that looks? Yea, he is doing that.

Stop stooping to their level.

Rich people donate to Romney. Rich people like living in nice places, like New York and San Francisco. They just don't like paying for it. Which bring us back around to why they are donating to Romney.

besides, he raised $25M more that 0bama did in July. Third month of out raising him and doing it by wide margins.

Obama won in '08 by winning in some traditionally red states. He will win the consistently blue states this year and he will win OH, FL, PA, WI. The electoral college - the sham that it is - is essentially a lock for Obama.

Most people who are obscenely wealthy live where it is 'nice' and 'fun'.

In other words, where the liberals are.

Excellent point. I doubt anybody serious about understanding this election actually believes it will be all that close, but the narrative (overused word) HAS to be that this is a close race to keep us dullards paying attention to the ads.

If you ever listen to freakanomics podcast, they actually have discussed the impact of campaign contributions on several episodes. They argue that although you must raise enough money to get your message out, having raised the most money doesn't secure a win. At some point it just comes down to having the right message. They make a well reasoned argument and offer numerous examples.

2012-08-22 10:04:53 AM
the Irony is that Obama and his family would more than likely be happier out of the White House than in it. they know how much doo doo this Nation is in and they know the seeds were sown way back in the Reagan 80's.

Obama and family would be happier, but the rest of the Nation would be worse off down the road. (except the Owners, of course)

Didn't they just recently give women the right to vote? And by 'recently,' I mean within the past 20 years.
