As long as they can get Gene Roddenberry to write it again.

I'm ok with this as long is it's a Western, as in circa post Civil War/pre 1900 era Western, and not some updated to modern times POS.

Crewmannumber6: but you see what I mean with the other 2

Oh, definitely. Sometimes I think that flatness lends itself to the performance, I actually liked Steve Martin in The Spanish Prisoner.

As for other films, State and Main was a Mamet comedy that worked, if you can believe it. And I thought Heist was fan-farking-tastic.

I have a bad feeling they are gonna mess it up bad trying to modernize it.

Apos: I'm unfamiliar with the series, but Mamet's involvement is enough for me to check it out.

Netflix has the entire original series

/it's worth checking out if you have it

David Mamet writes good dialogue, but even good actors just seem to be reading it from right off the script. Joe Mantegna in House of Games, Steve Martin in The Spanish Prisoner. Great words but nobody ever seems to OWN them

Cewley: hopefully they'll pick a Man, like Richard Boone, and not one of these scraggly beard hollywood pretty boys.

THIS^

/Richard Boone made that show. It would have been just another horse opera without him.
