(CNN)   After packing state caucuses and donating millions, what do Ron Paul fans get? A few extra free seats at the convention, and a chance to watch Rand Paul embarrass them all in primetime   (politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com) divider line 27

So, they cave in on their crusade to hold the convention up - an act they vowed to do because it was the only right thing to do - all for some extra seats on the floor, a monologue spot for Rand, and a few policy items that Romney will never address seriously?

But they still get frozen pizza, right?

Psst. I heard that Boehner is going to give a speech announcing that The Reverend Doctor Ron Paul secretly won three primaries, but there's a conspiracy to silence his ever-faithful, handsome, intelligent, and totally not funny followers from finding out. Because if they found out that Reverend Doctor Paul was entitled to appoint three cabinet secretaries, well, can you imagine the freedom they could unleash on the country?

So don't say a word, k? Second night of the convention, in the Special, Unmarked, Non-Freedom RINO Hall of Oppression And Maybe Some Jewish Bankers.

Yeah! Ron Paul is really sticking it to the man!

The "Commonwealth"* of Kentucky already embarrassed this country by electing that simpleton to office in the first place.

Seriously, every one of you Kentuckians deserve some sort of b*tch slap for this.

Hope you've got a team of liver transplant surgeons on standby.

I buy them by the dozen. With the unfettered free market, I can buy all the livers harvested from homeless people and illegal aliens that I want!

Wrong Paul

Yeah, the headline has little to do with the article.

It lists all the things that Paul delegates get, but doesn't begin to mention what they give up as part of the "compromise." It says that most of the Paul delegates under contention will be seated at the convention. It says that some things will be included in the party platform (big woop). It says that Rand Paul will have a speaking slot (woop-de-do). But, it doesn't say anything beyond that. It doesn't say at all that the Paul delegates won't "try and bring Monday's opening session to a grinding halt." It looks like the RNC is trying to appease the Paul delegates, but it doesn't say they have been appeased.

They actually think quite a bit alike, so my point stands.

We already knew Texas was farked up.

Getting policy concessions is actually a reasonable goal and a sensible course for them to pursue.

True, a private equity guy isn't going to adopt the Ron Paul position on the federal reserve, but if you're looking long term, getting some derp language in the party platform is a win for the teahadists and Paultards.

Come on now. There's only so much that the few actual progressives can do here.

It was only after listening to an NPR piece the other day where Ron Paul has written extensively on points he agrees and disagrees with the philosophy of Ayn Rand (actually the whole segment was on Paul Ryan but they mentioned Paul) that I realized his son must be named after Ayn Rand.

I admit, I have a major soft spot for the man. I rooted for him in the primaries, and I even voted for him; even though by the time my state voted it was blatantly obvious that his campaign was a lost cause. I know a lot of his die-hard fans are imbeciles, but I think a die-hard fan of any politician is an imbecile.

I'm so sick of having to choose between two shiat sandwiches...I have to admire the effort to expand the menu a little. It's obvious it's not going to work this time, but I kind of hope that they just keep at it and try harder next time....just please not with Rand.

So Texas and Kentucky are both farked up. What other states should I avoid?

Works for Paul Ryan too.

So the GOP and Romney threw the Paul political dynasty a bone or two to pay off Ron for not really attacking their anointed one in the debates?

How utterly predictable.

The GOP and Team Mittens are doing everything they can to try and prevent the convention from turning in to a donnybrook.

Good luck with that.

The article wouldn't have been greenlit if it had a proper headline. (So, Way to go, Subby?)

Compromises? From Republicans? Makes me wonder. Makes me think Ron didn't stand his ground, because as was said above, it didn't say what Romney got in return.

I want to see MUCH DISCOURSE at this convention. What I would love to see is Ron pull a flyer drop from the ceiling with all of the known and questionable problems with a Romney/Ryan Presidency. That'd be a hoot. I want them to have to shut off the lights and make everyone go home because of that pesky Ron Paul keeps poking them in the side.

Ha ha ha!
