While reading through that article, all I could think of is seeing the mascot get drilled in the gut by a baseball fired out of a cannon. And I laughed.

Yes, I noticed that an actual catcher was nowhere to be found like usual ceremonial first pitches. Those guys are worth something, a guy in a mascot suit? No so much.

This is pretty sweet.

Side now: are these high school robot teams as common in other areas as in metro Detroit or is it just because we have so many engineer parents here?

Dallas has robot competitions for high school students. Part due to the fact that TI is headquartered here, so many engineering parents teach their kids the same thing.
