This is Missouri after all.

A lot of folks have left this state over the last 20 years.

People who had better educations and could get better jobs elsewhere.

You do the math.

2012-08-21 09:49:03 AM
When you look at the difference between the high amount of support Republican men still have for him over Republican women, it becomes hard to deny the deep-seated misogyny within that electorate.

wejash: This is Missouri after all.

Done in one.

2012-08-21 09:49:19 AM
Surprised? His supporters will just believe it all a secret conspiracy by Fartbongo and the mainstream msm media or praise him for protecting the babies.

2012-08-21 09:49:55 AM
so...I guess the Republicans don't care about rape?

2012-08-21 09:49:56 AM
This headline is false.

He leads by 1%, the same amount as he did in MAY.

Last week he led by 5-6%.

So he's dropped 4-5% in two days. Let's see where he is by the end of the week.

2012-08-21 09:50:14 AM
Well, McCaskill still supports Obama, and Obama's still blah.

2012-08-21 09:51:15 AM
We can only hope he stays in and represents the Intellectual Republicans, he is on the Science Committee.

2012-08-21 09:51:59 AM
I am not surprised in the least by this. After all, his statement that caused all the ruckus is the position of the republican party is it not? FFS, he and the current VP had a bill that stated as such.

2012-08-21 09:52:31 AM
Yes, we know why you continue to scream and howl about it. We didn't need you to actually admit to that.

By the way you're the party that put Ted Kennedy in office time and time again after he did something far worse so I'd talk if I were you.

Of course they care. They care the same way Chris Christie cares about food.

2012-08-21 09:53:09 AM
Modern day "conservatives" are little more than dominionist farktards who want women back in the kitchen with their mouths closed.

2012-08-21 09:53:30 AM
So who did they poll? People that still have land lines, and don't have a source of news?

A disingenuous headline on the Fark Politics tab? The hell you say! Obviously our crack team of Modmins have been taken hostage by Nihilists. Once they break free, I'm sure they'll get right on that.

*blink*

every Republican's secret fantasy is being raped in the butthole by a hard left liberal hippy hung like a horse. its the conflict generated by denying this fantasy that makes republicans think the twisted way they think. Freud would be fascinated if he were alive today.

Apparently they care very much - Republicans cherish and adore rape.

2012-08-21 09:55:38 AM
Akin was +3% before aug 6th and +11% afterward. If he is unchanged since May, he lost 8 points overnight.

Missouri, it is just little Kansas.

It's almost as if it is very important on an emotional level to you guys to believe that rape is cool. I wonder what the reason for that might be?

I am just surprised it didn't go up!

a valid point...but it's a bit dated. not to mention that Teddy is (finally!) dead so...i'm not sure what you hope to gain by digging up his corpse.

see, you've got a problem. you have to defend a Republican who made some pretty offensive statements about rape. not a good place to be, I grant you. so I understand why you want to change the subject. hell, who wouldn't? Akin is an embarrassment after all. but...you might not be able to control the narrative on this one anymore.

There are some very abhorrent voters in MO.

The demographic of the polls are different. The most recent data is +9% republican. The previous was closer to even.

Rape is bad. Murder is worse. Akin didn't kill anyone, unlike certain Senators with a D behind their name.

People in MO know there are worse things than a stupid comment.

This is going to be a really shiatty day for political submissions, won't it?

Saw in another thread that the derp headline dam is going to break later.

If the last 4 years have taught us anything, its still better to have some idiot who has learned his lesson than to keep democrats in power.

Is there a "GOP Troll Subject Changing" bingo card yet, and if not, can we make one?

Actually, you're comparing the results of two different polling firms which use two different sampling and weighting methods. Subby and TFA are entirely correct in using the results of the same polling firm, even given the time lapse, in making their comparison.

I'll put it this way, even the freepers are dumping Akin and calling this poll a liberal lie to keep Akin in the race.

consider this: Maybe it's because people aren't going to choose a candidate based on one issue.

Yep. Being the Gordon Gekko of rape is just one minor issue. Doesn't tell us anything about his character at all.

2012-08-21 10:03:58 AM
lol GOP

the GOP on fark is coming in super weak on this one. Some GOP guy just pulled a but but Ted Kennedy. You know you've got nuthin when you resort to that.

haven't seen this much flailing since Romney refused to release his tax returns.

we should all make a note to get back to those tax returns after we're done pointing out what happens when a GOP Senator actually articulates in public the GOPs long standing position on one of their core issues.

/today's GOP ssshhhh!! don't tell anyone what we actually think.

Well, to be fair, if Obama came out tomorrow saying in his younger days he punched a baby right in the face, i still doubt I'd vote Rmoney. So that.

You are correct. It is simply an enormous analysis error by subby and the polling firm.
