I saw the owner on the local news last night here. I wish I could go word for word on her comment about complaints about the candy. Paraphrased it was basically "It's not supposed to look like meth. Even though it does. What can I do?" I'm not opposed to the candy or businesses here in Albuquerque profitting from BB ties ins in any way. But her 'it doesn't look like meth, even though it does, but what can I do, even though I make it?' response was great.

It's bad enough living in a state that some people don't even think is a state without this woman adding to the image of New Mexico as someplace where everyone is wired all the time. Meth might not be as big a problem here as it used to be a few years back, but that's still no excuse to exploit that fact.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that she will probably sell more of it, now that some people have a problem with it.

I wish there were more beyond those pics. I would totally eat the shiat out of them, i bet they taste amazing.

That being said, i can see why some people wouldn't want an actual association with Albequeque and Meth, but for what it's worth they seem to be handling it well. At least the guy actually named Walter White wasn't arrested in the city.

Is there a large scale image of NM as being a wired state? Not sarcasm, curious question. I know it's as bad here as anywhere else, but it is seen as being beyond the norm? I think most states these days can point to a meth capital within it's borders and a drastic meth problem. While I think the cash grab from the candy lady is tacky, I see her as exploiting the show more than a NM meth connection.

If my kid came home with a bag of "meth candy" I would hit the roof. Kids play pretend games with stuff like this, and that leads to curiosity I do not want him to satisfy. Not to mention the Gestapo at school. I don't like meetings and expulsions.

It's just a well written, intense show.
As far as "meth candy", it's just rock candy: crystallized sugar.
