And by 'co-star' I mean 'the guy who, sweatily struggles to penetrate her every orifice with his pathetic phallus'

Is it wrong that I heard your post in Regis Philbin's voice as I read it?

Cathy and Kelly. Think Mayan prophecy

The day Regis looked in the mirror and decided he might not want to do this anymore, it was Wayne Brady's job. Even if they don't select him, it's still his job.

Ryan Seacrest. He has some downtime to fill.

texdent: Ryan Seacrest. He has some downtime to fill.

In all seriousness, I don't see them spending big money to get a big name. They wouldn't pay big money to hold on to Regis. Additionally, too big a name and Kelly is reduced to second billing status. It has to be something "Kelly and Schlub". They're never going to outdo The View so they're going to go cheap.

YMMV

Kathy Griffin.

2012-08-21 12:36:28 PM

Buttknuckle: Kathy Griffin.

See, that would almost work. Griffin would come cheap, she would take second billing just to get the job.

But I don't think they would get along too well. And Griffin would take her top off by the second week.

Meh. I find something about her to be infuriatingly annoying. I can't even watch her for more than 2 minutes...

At least half of that show's draw, if not more than that, was following Regis, because he's Regis. Very few people really give a rat's ass about Kelly, no matter what she wants to believe. Needless to say, when they hire someone who won't overshadow her, people will realize how little they like her and they'll stop watching.

1. Regis reduces his salary demand closer to ABC's last offer.
2. All contractual agreements are sealed.
3. Regis gets top billing again

It could happen

except they don't compete with The View, same network 2 hours apart.

they're against The Doctors, Today, whatever's on Fox, and Maury. they probably do alright with ratings.

That is crazy. In my market (Phx), Kelly is on the NBC affiliate against the ABC affiliate's The View. I can't see how ABC syndicates it's program to a competing local station. It's chicanery.

Not that watch this show, as I have a job, but I'd like to see it go to "Psycho" Mike Catherwood from Loveline. He guest co-hosted/auditioned at one point. I didn't see it, but he's funny on Loveline, smart enough, and the camera likes him. He may not be generic/flyover state-friendly enough, so he's probably a long shot. He's also probably not popular with the show's demo (dying people).

There's a report that it will be Michael Strahan.

They should just keep having different co-hosts every week and call the show Kelly and Company.

So what is this new show called?

"Neither Regis Nor Kathee Lee"?

Catchy!

I gotta go with Geoff Peterson. Although, the caller giveaways might be a problem, because Geoff always has a place in wherever the caller is from.
