They've already ruined Bane in the New 52. He's a drugged-up, roided out hunchback.

Sounds like an improvement over the Mexican Wrestler angle he started with.

So they adopted the Batman & Robin version of him? Now that is just criminal.

I do also. It seems like subby is mad his icrapdroid won't have it. Nokia been there since The Dark Knight and I wouldn't be surprised if they are in the next Star Trek movie either.

When the fark will DC and Marvel learn that EXLUSIVE means you are EXCLUDING a significant portion of your audience.

Same bullshiat with the comic books stores and exclusive deals for operating systems. Why the hell aren't they pushing everything to as large a market as possible?

It makes absolutely no sense. "Boo-hoo, our print comics industry is dying...I know, let's make all the titles impossible to find and not let any large retailers carry them. What about digital subscribers? Let's make it available on only one operating system, that way we can lose out on all the customers we could have had if we released them to everybody"

farking Brilliant.

I don't know about all this New 52 stuff, but they ruined Bane in the last movie. The twist makes him go from being a brilliant mastermind to a mindless thug following orders. It negates his whole bad ass character.

The point is not for DC to reach as many customers as possible. The point is for them to pocket the millions of dollars that Nokia paid for the tie in with one of the biggest movies if the year, in an effort to gain customers for their phones.

I've heard that they are great for people who do most of their work in MS Office.

He's a field commander. She handles the What and Why, and he handles the How, Who, and When.

I may have broken Batman's back and left him in suffering while I brutally took over a city and planned to nuke it, but forcing people to buy a Nokia? That is farked up.

THIS. He likes to take a very... hands on approach. He is very far from mindless.

Bane was a mastermind. The mastermind on the ground getting the dirty work done, being the face of the League of Shadows. Talia worked behind the scenes, making her way into Gotham's elite under her Miranda Tate alias. They were partners.

The New 52 was a terrible, half-reboot of the DC Comics cosmology. It would've worked had some better writers and editors been involved, but that's not been the case. The took Bane's original, venom-addicted incarnation and reduced it to a one-note joke. Nolan's version of Bane basically saved the character and made him awesome to general audiences. Comics audiences got, "MOAR VENOM AND MOAR MUSCLES, AND POUCHES TOO!"

Electric_Banana: Isn't Nokia still pretty popular overseas?

Yes but for some the entire world consists only of them and their PBR swilling friends. I still see way more Nokias and even Blackberries in Europe, Asia, and Africa than I see iphones or Droids. No idea about South America.

Nice reference, and even better when I re-read it in Bane's voice.

This^^^

It's the difference between strategy and tactics. Strategy (Talia) is the high level goals and approach, tactics (Bane) is the execution and making it all actually happen.

The opening scene is a perfect illustration of this. Talia got the information on who the scientist was and if he could turn the reactor into a nuke, she passed that on to Bane who then hijacked a plane in midair in order to get him back from the Feds.

I call shennanigans. Everyone knows Bane was founded in '89 by Romney, using blood money from El Salvadoran hit squads. Why would you have to buy a Nokia to see that?

The worlds last Nokia user will be killed by the sun expanding into a red giant and eating the planet earth, and even then the phone will outlive its owner by a wide margin. Cockroaches, Toyota Landcruisers and Nokia phones; all that will survive the end of days.
