It's all a question of vowels, subby. A or O.

If it sits on your lap and you go "Awwwww," it's a cat. If it sits on your lap and you go "Owwwww," it's an elephant.

I'm always losing my lipstick up in that big old elephant anus.

Oh I assure you, if elephants were kneading your crotch, you would notice the difference.

I imagine the larnyx of an elephant would be bigger than that of a cat subby.

Some elephants are fat cats.

No doubt, but my point was that my cats produce more Owwwws than Awwwws

Yes, ask the Larnyx.

Or possibly not, because you'd no longer have a crotch that you could notice.

Does a cat purring in your ear mean the same thing as an elephant rumbling in your ear?

If you need a front-end loader to clean the litterbox, it's an elephant.
If you drop it upside down out a second-story window and it lands on its feet, it's a cat.

/protip: A cat will never bring you your wadded-up elephant as a treat.

Dr. Fitch and colleagues made their discovery

Yeah, we've been researching elephant communication for AGES. We known they use infrasonic vocalizations for decades. All you've "discovered" is a redundant fact that could be safely inferred by the existence of the entire branch of study already in place.

It's like those people who go to some place like Australia, talk to the natives, and "discover" a "new" species of goat or something that's been feeding the locals for centuries or more and then name it after themselves like they've done anything useful.

Of course it is, he's wearing a dunce collar AND a onesey. And there's a blanket in his litter box.
