One of these mornings
You're going to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take to the sky

But until that morning
There's a'nothing can harm you
With your daddy and mammy standing by

Cool stunt, but this biatch should be hit with a class action suit for ruining action movies for the next ten years.

Seriously, every braindead moron who's been "rebooting" shiat for the past few years is gonna latch onto this like lox on a bagel and every single movie with more than three bullets is gonna have a tightrope walking scene. Just you wait. Doubt me now, be freakin' bored later.

For a dude like me, that's a normal Wednesday...assuming I can't find anything else exciting to do.

A tether wouldn't have helped much had she point stuck in the middle when they went back into the tunnel.
That last part was freaking terrifying.

I wonder if her balance was enhanced or diminished by her gigantic brass lady balls.

erm : "...had she been stuck in the middle..."
Monday morning... can't type. Or spell, or think.

The video proved nothing to me about the quality or uniqueness of these trucks, but that first fall tells me I've been going way too easy on the vag . . .

Wasn't overly impressed. I got the impression she fell and stumbled on purpose just for the dramatic effect. Yeah, I'm jaded.

Why is Volvo doing the Darth Vader / cabover style? "Luke. I am your truck. Search your heart and know this to be true. Join me and together we will travel America solving crimes, meeting beautiful, large hair women. All you need to do is join me, Luke. And get a monkey. Chicks dig monkeys."

They should do this again with the trucks speeding toward a giant sheet of plywood.

That way the consolation prize for not making it is an awesome person-shaped hole.

Like NASCAR, this won't be interesting till they throw a deer or two on the road.

I wonder how the rest of her team feels about her stealing the spotlight. somewhereelseland.com You can see pictures of their travels. They go to some beautiful locations!

How does two trucks driving at 80mph down a mostly straight road with a woman walking on a tightrope between them demonstrate their handling?

forgot to add (why can't we edit comments?):

Real wire acts don't have safety catches and each performance could be their last

Real wire acts also are usually done between two static objects with a balance bar.

The safety catch probably simply made up for the fact that she wasn't using a bar. Besides, if she falls too late, she's going to go SPLAT against the wall between the tunnels anyway. It's not like it would actually save her...

Because in Europe they don't have enough room for a Long Hood Peterbuilt. We don't have room enough for them in the NE either, but good luck trying to get one of those Nice Cabovers here in the States.

I want a DAF-XF to run NYC to CHY with. Also Pitt, and Philly. Piss on Long hoods, they ain't that great.

Look at any of the work from her team in the link I posted above, they always seem to have the tether unless they are low to the ground. (This includes spans between static objects). It diminishes from the awe factor and any real sense of a dangerous/daring act. Thrill seeker? Yes. Daredevil? Hardly. You don't think they wouldn't put their jake brakes to use if she fell? The video itself plays out like normal Hollywood suspense

look at these time stamps ...

Look how far they moved between the first and second shots in 13 seconds and they flip cameras while she makes progress. Notice that she didn't move at all for 10 seconds between the 2:21 and 2:31 when they are swapping cameras. At 2:42 they are coming up on the wall FAST (mind you 11 seconds there)... There is no way in hell she would have been able to buy another 9 seconds worth of time like they make it seem to just barely escape in time.

I don't know about you but I'm too old to believe wrestling and magic and the likes are real. From my perspective I see this in the same boat.
/I'd like to see the raw feed and not a Volvo television promo

That depends. If she's in the middle of the rope (on the rope, or hanging by an ankle) when the trucks go through the tunnel, sure, she's toast. But if she fell, the trucks would have braked, so if there was room to stop before the tunnels, then the tether might save her a lot of road rash and such.

I was curious what happened when the trucks went through. The slack-rope is still between them, so it has to have some way of doing a sudden disconnect. And she still has a tether connecting her to that rope. I'm sure they had that worked out, but I'm curious how it works. I'm also curious about how they keep the tension even.

I hated the way they kept changing camera angles, including showing useless stuff like the driver of the truck.

Overall, I was quite impressed, and I've watched more than my share of tight rope/slack rope shows, including the Walenda's 7 person pyramid.

Oh and another thing I meant to say... when you are watching the beginning of the video did you notice that around 0:20 she is not tethered but has two spotters underneath her to catch her if she falls? For a seasoned professional and a 'world champion slackliner' I would think that this is a pretty basic walk (stationary, low level in terms of wire acts). Something tells me she isn't comfortable when she doesn't have that peace of mind from her fail safe .

She has balls bigger than mine.

She could tap my ass if she wanted.
