You can bet your ass that the youth of yesteryear would have done this provided they had access to the technology.

Of course, they probably wouldn't have been charged with so many crimes, but whatever. THAT'S the difference for the younger generations... they go to jail because a bunch of farktards somehow didn't kill themselves when they were younger, so they make everything illegal.

Really. You have no problem with this, and they're just getting picked on because these days it's easy to record yourself.

Really. Really.

You knwo if they had video on handheld devices and youtube they'd be doing crazy shiat like this in Mayberry. Don't even pretend otherwise.

Yeah, kids are dumber today than ever, you know, with that 24/7 access to nearly the entire scope of human knowledge. No, I'm sure the average kid in the 1870s was FAR smarter.

What's a yute?

I've always considered youths to be people under 18.

They probably had more things memorized, simply because they didn't have access to information about every single topic under the sun at their fingertips. Not sure if that made them "smarter".

My mom can still recite a few of Shakespeare's sonnets by heart simply because she had to memorize them in highschool. I never had to waste brain power on that.

/learned the Fresh Prince song by heart instead
//Now this is a story all about how....

I see that a lot, I know someone who will talk about how her niece needs a calculator to do "long division", but she can't do fairly basic algebra and her niece can.

I have trouble with basic algebra, but I can do easy Calculus in my head. I'm somewhat convinced that the higher level math you can do, the harder it is to do basic math.

What surprises me is that subby thinks that we need proof. Many of the posts on fark proved that to me a long time ago.

right............... somebody decided just recently that it should be illegal to fire a weapon out of a car window while cruising around some town.

Let me guess - you are part of the youth of today?

No proof, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the yoots of 1870 had more common sense on average than yoots today.

/23 is not a youth.

I would have never done something like this at that age, unless I was blackout drunk.

As it happens, I was blackout drunk quite often at that age....

Subby is a gullible fool. The only difference between today is yesteryear is people have technology to document their stupidity.

Subbyy also probably thinks the 40's and 50's were exactly like the movies, and that Grandma was a good girl, and didn't give BJ's in the back of her Dad's Chevy.

I'm not saying I have no problem with this - but my dad and his brothers did stupider shiat in rural Minnesota as kids.

It's not "kids", it's the bottom quintile that doesn't even know they have access to the entire scope of human knowledge, and doesn't care because they wouldn't know what the big words meant, anyway.

Oh you know they would. It seems like the more portable and cheaper cameras have gotten, the more people seem to tape themselves doing dumb shiat. Then Youtube came on the seem and the shiat exploded.

It's not about being dumber, that factor was always there, it is just having the tools to available to you to attention whore to a larger audience.

You are a sagely and sagacious wizard who understands human nature deeply. Oh please tell us more of your incredibly realistic and reasonable visions of youth.

one recidivist white boy dooshbag 23 yr old does not represent the entire youth culture of america. your typical 23 yr old that is attending college, working a full time job or volunteering at a hospital goes about their affairs quietly unnoticed.

I don't think there was a single stop sign without a bullet hole or three between Monroville and Lancaster in PA.

That's actually an important farking question. It's the difference between whether this jackass did something that could have killed someone, or randomly given them a welt if they noticed it at all.

I'd like to point out that my 25 or so nephews and nieces all seem to be pretty damn smart. Without a doubt, smarter than most of my parent's generation.

He had a .45 automatic (at least in the video he claims it's a .45), and an airsoft rifle. He shot the .45 out the window to look all gangsta for his idiot passenger.

I grew up on the side of a mountain in a town of 140 people. And they taught us not to be utter jackwads when handling guns.

How many kids does he have

2012-08-19 10:28:16 PM
We did it when we were kids, but not shooting randomly. We always had a target, like road signs and mailboxes.

Nothing like standing up out the window with a 12 gauge and blowing away some road signs.

Good times to be had in Wisconsin.

Did I say that?

No? No. I didn't say that. At all.

Here's what I said: kids are just as stupid as they've always been, but these days they get caught and/or punished whereas that did not used to happen.

To add to that, kids in the "good old days" were more likely to do something enough times that they'd be KILLED.

Do I have to put an asterisk in "w*gger", or is it ok to say the whole thang?

I mean, I'm white. I think it's ok for WHITE people to say "wigger".

I think the access to YouTube, Facebook, etc, certainly makes the douchebaggery more visible, but I also wonder if the 'gangsta' culture is driving some of it as well.

Also, to some degree, zero tolerance policies are getting kids in serious legal trouble today for things that the police would have likely handed over to the parents to handle in the past, though this isn't one of those cases, driving around shotting a gun out of a car is obviously extremely dangerous and this guy deserves to be locked up.
