Two illustrations. And they both fail because neither are of Sally's tailpipe.

Seems to be a lot of dissected cartoon characters floating around on the internet.

Read the comments in TFA, especially the sub-thread about the "Car Pope." There's a bad-taste pun therein worthy of Fark.

Thank you. That is why I developed a writhing hatred for Pixar after that insipid movie came out.

Hmmmm apparently Lightning McQueen is a V-10....

V-10 front engine, RWD...guess that makes him a Dodge Viper.

I await the one they do of Sally Carrera when she's carrying a litter of Lightning McQueen's pups? Economy Cars?
Words fail me here for describing their offspring.

That fact that someone, somewhere, believes there are a wrong and a right way to anthropomorphize a cartoon vehicle is what's wrong.

Probably been said a million times, but the filmmakers chose the windshield because it provides more landscape for facial expressions than headlights ever could.

Clearly the filmmakers have never seen a Chevron commercial.

It also looks really weird at night if the headlights are eyes.

Windshields as eyes leaves open the possibility for headlights as... well... headlights.

Skyfrog: That's really stupid, why would they have animal organs?

Eyes and tongues are animal organs, not car parts. And if they weren't living creatures (albeit very weird ones), then who made them in the first place and how can mechanical cars have babies together?

Oddly, the cutaway drawings aren't any more creepy then the actual whole cars from the movie.

/Love Pixar movies.

Wahhhhh.....some cartoon doesn't depict anthropomorphic cars in the manner to which I am accustomed.

This is actually why I can't stand Cars.

It just doesn't make any sense. It's Lovecraftian in its nature. Only a child could watch that movie and not have their mind in constant struggle.

And that's without even going into the questions of Cars cosmology.

Also, the artist, while good, isn't very smart. But I'll give him the benefit of doubt and again blame Pixar.

Human mouth is the intake hose for food.
Food is where human fuel comes from.

Cars' cars can't have two fuel intakes. The gasoline and the food one? WTF? It's okay if they have mouths as a mean of expression I guess, but not as a food intake. It just doesn't make ANY sense.

If it was good enough for Tex f**king Avery in 1952, it's good enough for Pixar now, damn it. This, and variant he did with WWII planes, were some of my favorites as a kid, and I always assumed this is what Pixar was going for to emulate anyway.

I never understood the abject hatred people seem to have for "Cars." I mean, yeah, it's not Pixar's finest work, but even a bad Pixar film is still great and it was mostly an inoffensive story. Hell, I hate the "Larry the Cable Guy" character with about every fiber of my being, but it worked for that character.

Why do cartoons need to have anatomies like real things? I mean, does it improve a cartoon to make-believe that it's a real thing?

I'm a huge Pixar fan but not a big fan of Cars. With that said the original Cars is EASILY one of the best looking Pixar movies (Only Wall-E compares IMO). The movie just looks gorgeous in HD. I actually bought Cars on Blu-Ray under the auspices of having something for my nephews to watch when they come over. I've watched it WAY more times than they have. Awesome job by the VFX team.
