The Botoxables.

I dunno, it was okay. While I hate the term "popcorn movie" and phrases like "leave your brain at the door", I suppose this movie qualifies, it was entertaining. But it shouldn't be the norm.

I'll say this about the movie.
I'm not the world's biggest fan of Chuck Norris jokes. They annoy me mostly.

That said, hearing one delivered by the man himself got a chuckle from me.

I don't think it is the norm anymore, at least not for R-rated ultraviolent action flicks.
Back in the late 80s to mid-90s, a mindless explosionfest movie starring at least one person who was in the Expendables seemed to come out at least every other weekend.

This franchise is a cinematic rendering of the phrase "They don't make em like that anymore."

Incidentally, I heard Steven Seagal might be in the next one. If that's the case, I hope they take the "Executive Decision" route and kill him off in the first 15 minutes.

I liked it. It was mindless entertainment. If you're going to see it and expect "Citizen Kane", yeah you'll be disappointed.

Also, Chuck Norris is a pretty crappy actor. Thank God he only had about 10 lines or so. Terry Crews and Dolph Lundgren had the best parts, I thought. And I still can't figure out the purpose of Randy Couture's character, unless it's to provide comic relief about his cauliflower ears.

I disagree: If anything,he'd be the perfect villain,as he so aptly demonstrated in Machete.

I think I might see The Expendables on Tuesday for cheap movie night. It's not going to be worth 9.50, but I won't feel bad spending 5 bucks on it

Best Steven Seagal movie precisely for that reason.

It was such a brilliant move, getting a major action star for a part like that. I can't think of another movie that pulled a similar fake-out.

The Expendables 2 was AWSOME! It was a ton of fun and should have been seen by many more people. Also amazing was Paranorman. I was very impressed by that one as well. It also underpreformed. I never understand the movie going public.

I also enjoyed The Awakening and Compliance. I hope more people try to see these movies. But I doubt it.

But do not go see Comopolis. I thought, David Cronenberg could not miss. Wow, was I wrong. And the Odd Life of Timothy will give most people a tear in their eye.

Yes, I have no life and see a lot of movies. Happy? I am.

Expendables 2 was a great homage to the action movies of the 1980s and 1990s. It was quite a bit better than the first one, and I liked the first one.

Rumor has it that Sly wants to get Nicholas Cage, Harrison Ford, and Clint Eastwood to appear in the Expendables 3.

Scream 1, Drew Barrymore

I saw Expendables 2, it was good, but I think the fist was better. This one seemed to count a little too much on Hey Arnold, Sly and Bruce are all kicking ass and making meta jokes. Regardless, I can't wait for Expendables 3.

Why did Arnold wear a muumuu (or a blouse, it's was all kinda billowy either way) in this? Are his tits that big now?

I doubt that'll happen. Maybe they could get Cage, but Eastwood's definitely outgrown action movies. Though I would root for it, on the condition that he beats Chuck Norris to death.

If you're ignoring the "major action star" part and just going with star, Janet Leigh, Psycho.

Yeah, I knew there was a big one I was forgetting. Psycho really did a great job with it. I'm sure at the time, it must have been quite a shock for a movie to do something like that.

Van Damme was the best part of Expendables 2, but he was totally underutilized. Really only 2 scenes where he does anything, and I thought his fight with Stallone should have lasted longer. But eh, what am I gonna do? I willingly purchased a ticket to Expendables 2!

I'm pretty sure it was fairly unprecedented and shocked a lot of people (along with the shower scene).

//Thought the shower scene in Porky's was more exciting.

I think Eastwood is done acting, unless it's in something his friends direct or something he directs himself.

I still remember seeing that in the theater. During the months leading up to it, all the trailers and TV spots made it seem like it was going to be a Steven Seagal movie. Kurt Russell was barely even mentioned.

One of the best marketing head-fakes I've ever seen.

I had only seen the MST3K version of the film and never realized how many long pauses were present throughout the movie. I might have to track down a copy of Manos 2 when it gets released and I look forward to the Manos restoration project finishing up.

Eastwood is in only one scene in Expendables 3 but he steals the picture without saying a word:

He's sitting on his front porch staring at all these tough guys standing on his front lawn. Then Arnold says "wrong house", Willis says "yeah, we should go" and the pack of them back away and out of the shot.

If he's in it, which I doubt, I hope they at least make him go on a diet and lift some weights. You can make jokes about how old these guys are, but you can't say anything about them being out of shape.

E2 was much better than the first, and the final scene in the airport before the huge fight got tons of cheers from the 80s loving action fans. You just cant beat that.

yes, it would HAVE been hilarious, english flunkie...but some of us who hate Chuck Norris's and Tom Cruise's personal lives, can actually understand that they're paid to make movies, and as long as they deliver, I don't care what they're like IRL. TC is a whackjob, but MI:4 was awesome. CN is a whackjob, but I enjoyed hearing a norris joke from his mouth.

Cue the STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE pic, basement-dweller.

Saw the Bourne movie; not great, but not terrible. Definitely an attempt to set up a Bourne-less Aaron Cross franchise.

I can think of less entertaining things to stare at while cramming popcorn down my gullet - such as way over-the-hill action stars attempting one last cash grab - so I gave it a C+.

I kinda want them to do a female version of the Expendables.

Angelina Jolie, Milla Jovovich, Linda Hamilton, Sigourney Weaver, Yvonne Strahovski, Summer Glau.....I could go on.
