He's responsible for that "San Francisco" song, AND Kokomo? Can't say I'm going to miss the guy.

Wear a flower in your hair? More like wear your hazmat suit. The reality is that SF smells like pee, and the crap you see on the sidewalk might just be human feces.

I heard somewhere that he developed terrible stage fright that pretty much killed his solo career.

RIP hippie dude.

God, that song sucks. Whenever people start blabbering on about how great all music used to be in the "good ol' days" and how everything now is crap, this is one of those songs I point to to prove them wrong.

Wow, he was only 2 days older than my dad. I need to remember to hug him next time I see him as that age group is dropping off.

As usual, I'm thinking, "Didn't this guy die two years ago?"

The other one today was William Windom. I swear I already read about his death a couple of years ago.

It was written by John Phillips to promote the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival 103 miles away, and was recorded in Los Angeles, 450 miles away from SF. Still a great song about a great town by a great voice.

RIP Scott.

Loopy hippie hubris, but one of the most beguiling bass hooks in pop music, at least in the released single..

Amen. That song makes me want to punch babies in the face with one hand as I'm drowning kittens with the other. The combination of both cries and mewish tones is the only thing that will get the song out of my head.

Sees what you did there.

Personally, I think that there is no better love song to any city than LIGHTS.

Its the only Journey song I have on my iPod, so watch it with the sass.
