Bigfoot shouldn't have been wearing a hoodie and walking casually in the rain.

Fluid: Tillmaster: I've never understood why America still takes the polygraph seriously (unless it's an 'invented here' situation).

Any other countries use them?

It doesn't do most of the things people think it does, but it's still considered a useful tool if you know how to use it. In combination with other interrogation methods, of course.

As useful as one of these...

Uh... we don't.

As Ongbok and SwingDancer's anecdotes attest, yeah maybe we do. :( Kind of like how seriously we take credit reports.......and those are worse frauds than polygraphs. So what happens to all the people who fail a lie detector test but are actually telling the truth?

They usually have their lives ruined.

I remember seeing this lawyer on some news show during the reporting of some kidnapping. They were discussing somebodies lie detector results and how the person couldn't be dismissed as a suspect just because they passed a lie detector. And that is when this lawyer that was on the panel said that is why he would tell any client he ever had to never take a lie detector because they won't help you and usually just hurt you. He was saying if you are a suspect in the polices' eyes, passing a lie detector test isn't going to change that, and in fact some people would see the fact that you passed as even more proof that you are guilty. If the test detects deception or is inconclusive, and there are many reasons to get these results, they will double down on you.

That man convincingly and conclusively passed a polygraph test. He IS telling the truth, and that truth is as infallible as the word of God.

I, for one, am preparing to invest my entire life savings towards developing lab-grade Big Foot food nuggets, since scientists will surely need a high quality and nutritious Big Foot food nugget to feed Big Feets during laboratory experiments.

Now that we know Big Foot is real, and not a myth, the final cog is in place to spark the next U.S. civil war. Which side of the war to decide the plural form of Big Foot will you fall on? Big Foots or Big Feet?

Either this guy or someone talking about him was on Joe Rogan's podcast a few months ago. The story adds up as long as you don't require proof of anything, including a body. Using the same rigorous method of proof, I just killed Godzilla in my backyard. I'd show you pictures, but a giant bear made off with the corpse before I could charge my camera, which had a dead battery. There also isn't any blood, because there was a freak thunderstorm right after I shot him. I managed to carve off some of the skin on his back, but I had it in my shirt pocket and it accidentally fell down the garbage disposal while I was doing dishes. But I sure as shiat killed that farker, you can trust me.

I had to take a polygraph test once, and I asked the examiner how accurate the process was.

He said I dunno, but you would be amazed at the shiat people start admitting just because they're hooked up to the machine.
