Played in snow during July up in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, wasn't a lot but was still fun. It was perfect snowman/snowball snow. Was really only up near a few peaks and luckily the roads went up.  Jumped into Lake Yellowstone and turned into a Meat Popsicle.

It's carbon dioxide, not pure carbon CO2 weighs 48 g/mole, but only 12 of that is the carbon- the oxygen supplies the other 32. He actually put more than half a ton into the air.

This. Most of the mass of CO₂ comes from the O₂ pulled out of the air to react with the C to form the CO₂.

Well, if you're going to drive thousands of miles and burn hundreds of liters of fuel to engage in "eco-tourism" just keep driving up here to BC. The northern Selkirks still have 20(!) feet of winter snowpack remaining on the glaciers over 2500m. With the summer heat you can literally watch them move and watch the crevasses form, after all they are "rivers" of ice. As well the Rockies and Icefields glaciers are packing on some heft as there has literally been no summer above 2500m. The last few years have been record winter snowpacks and epic cold spring-early summer which has been favorable for fattening up the glaciers in the Columbia and Rocky Mountains here.

Sorry to hear about GNP, but there are thousands of other glaciers and some are actually growing. Montana is not the whole planet folks, calm down.
