List isn't complete without Idaho on it.

With the WAC folding, Idaho is forced to try life as a Football independent with all of their other sports in the Big Sky Conference. The Big Sky was the only conference in the country that offered them a home for football.

They might be forced into it eventually, the odds of them being successful as a Football Independent are slim. Swallow your pride and slink back to FCS guys.

Expected to see New Mexico on there then realized it was crap teams from name schools. Just bought prime season tickets for dirt cheap. Who knows? If Davies wins two games he doubled last year's win total and is only one less win than the past three years combined.

Not the best list but at least it's not one of those lists that list continually Top-25 ranked teams as the "worst" based solely on the author's allegiances.

No one expects Vandy to do anything though. But no one expects Duke or Kentucky to do jack in football either.

Time to fire off an angry letter to Cigar Aficionado.

BCS teams - Idaho has to make a BCS conference before they can be on the list. But yeah, they are coming back to the Big Sky, where they might be the fourth best team in the conference.

FTA: "UCLA's film school has produced several Academy Award-winning directors. If this year's class is looking for a senior project, perhaps they would like to film the sequel to last year's horror show of a football program. "

Yeah, horror movies don't really get you many Academy Awards.

Just sayin that Clemson should be on that list. Maybe they're not the "worst", but they might as well be with how high they start and how low they finish every goddamned year.

From the Arizona State writeup:

"Northern Arizona and Illinois will help Arizona State get off to a quick start again this year, but it will be a mirage."

If Arizona State is supposed to get off to a quick start by beating Illinois, why isn't Illinois on the list? What a crappy writer.

Notre Dame?

Oh, I guess their boosters lead the BCS in buying cigars, therefore Cigar Aficionado leaves them off the list.

Because losing ASU doesn't mean they can't contend in the Big10, which they do often enough.

It's more that people expect Vandy to go something like 6-6 again, than anything. He's talking about teams that he's expecting to go 2-10 or 3-9. So, Vandy would have belonged there in the past.

List is just...strange. It's like he mixed up a list of some of the worst BCS programs (Maryland, UK, KU, Indiana, Minnesota, Duke) with a list of the most disappointing BCS programs (Ole Miss, Arizona State, UCLA, Colorado). What about Northwestern? Purdue? Vanderbilt? Temple?

bhcompy: Because losing ASU doesn't mean they can't contend in the Big10, which they do often enough.

Basically I'm saying what velvet_fog is saying - they're two completely different lists that have nothing to do with one another. Are they crappy teams or teams that aren't going to be as good as people think? For that matter, I agree that ASU is probably going to suck, but the sentence defies the reason to list them.

And from those 6-6/7-5 teams, you find a 35-7 loss to Alabama, a 63-5 loss to Florida, a 45-0 loss to LSU, a 38-13 loss to West Virginia, and a 18-0 loss to Georgia.

Most damning of all, the CUSA champion lost to Kentucky. In football.

If your conference champion loses to Kentucky, then your conference champion is terrible.

I was just naming a random conference, but nice stats. And the teams that run their mouths off most don't make bowl games, they win their 4 OOC games vs the Sun Belt and 1AA and go 0-8 in conference play. So which team are you a fan of from the SEC? I'm gonna guess.......Kentucky

Really it should say "10 most overrated teams," but that list fails without Notre Dame.

Still awaiting the inevitable discussions about "Is this the year Notre Dame makes a comeback?" after they beat Navy and Purdue.

That was probably the worst UGA team in over a decade so while yeah you beat a name it wasn't that great of a win for the team. But I will say that loss was the only one that shocked me so much and it also showed be washaun ealy was a soft running back since he didn't want to take the hit or fight for the extra yardage. Maybe I was just spoiled by knowshon while he was there.

And actually that was my first thought as well, most of their schools are horrible, it was funny a couple years ago bit ACC division winners got stomped on by two middle sec teams to end the year.

And after west Virginia who was even decent in the big least? Pitt? Man they are terrible at football.

Indiana is pretty damn awful at football. A "good" team for them is 4 wins.

I think Purdue actually wins 7 games this year, assuming everyone doesn't blow out their ACLs yet again. They have had some hilariously bad luck (well, funny to watch as an outsider, probably not so funny if you're a Purdue fan) with ACLs both with football and it even crossed over to basketball. It might not rise to the level of "Iowa Running Back" when it comes to bad things happening, but it's pretty bad.
