It's New Hampshire.

They're reactionary retards.

New Hampshire is basically the Arizona of the North East. With New Jersey being Florida.

I'm cancelling my trip. Four thousand miles for a fireworks show and back in three days is just too much.

2012-08-17 11:33:46 PM
Yeah we're over 10 years beyond being able to say "we will not be intimidated by terrorists". The terrorists have won in most ways they could have conceivably accomplished.

Has anyone questioned the sheriff's teenage layabout of a son and his cohorts yet?

/Would wager the "threat" was from somebody nearby that can't take one night of noise that might bring joy to others.

"Something is going to explode during The Annual Jaffrey Festival of Fireworks."

More of an educated guess than a threat, really.

Jaffrey, you're such a douche.

Please. The entire TSA exists purely because of fear instilled by terrorists. We sure as hell seem to be intimidated.

Before I moved DownUnder, that was *the* fireworks show to attend. It's an all-day event held on an airfield. They park you nose-to-tail on the runway and you tailgate all day. Good old-fashioned fun.

Having been there many times, I can say that it's better to cancel that event than risk something because:
-- while entry is by gate and has choke-points, there is no possible way to secure all access areas.
-- its a VERY crowded event and even a small device would do significant damage and cause significan injuries
-- additional security to physically inspect every single backpack, cooler, vehicle, and person entering the event would be expensive and clog the roads for miles

I say "well done, Jaffrey and Atlas Pyro." If someone was able to sneak something in - and god knows people sneak "things" in all the time {wink wink nudge nudge} - well, I'll leave that to your imagination.

Um, nothing you posted explains why they should cancel. There is absolutely no difference between the danger level this year and every single year previous. There's no difference between a crowd at a fireworks show and the crowd that gathered in Times Square for the Curiosity landing. In fact, there's no difference between it and any crowd that gathers at any event all over America.

The only difference is some retard decided he wanted to be a douche and called in a bomb threat.

Just because there's douches in this world doesn't mean we should stop living. fark those people, we should continue to live our lives regardless of they say.

Yeah, Jaffrey is going to be a huge target, of all places. Even if the person in the letter has "a bomb", YOU have "many bombs". It is the goddamn "fireworks festival" after all. Do you know nothing of Mutually Assured Destruction? Of course, it's on a smaller scale, since there are like what, SIX people in Jaffey to begin with?

We lost to the terrorists on September 11, 2001. Our military may be pummeling them at the moment, but our country is a fearful shell of its former self that pisses its pants at the mere mention of bombs, Muslims, and Islam.

Pearl Harbor made the entire country rise up and work in unison to defeat Germany and Japan. 9/11 made the entire country curl up in the corner and wail in horror.

2012-08-18 05:29:49 AM
Agreed.

You also left out the part about how we have to have our balls rubbed now before boarding an airplane. Because 9/11 was a serious victory for terrorism.

If by "we" you mean pseudo-conservatives you'd be correct.

Riiiiiiiight. N.H. has always been such a "conservative" strong hold.

In four of the last five presidential elections, New Hampshire voters cast their ballots for the Democratic presidential candidate: Clinton in 1992 and 1996, Kerry in 2004, Obama in 2008.

New Hampshire's population has one of the nation's lowest percentage of minority residents... just 1% of state residents are African-American, and only 2.8% are of Hispanic heritage. Minority groups, and not white voters, have been President Obama's strongest supporters at the ballot box nationally.

New Hampshire's governor is John Lynch, a Democrat
 Typical bed-wetting liberals.

I live a mile from the airport... This is a BIG deal, and there are many unhappy people here who would like to get their hands on the miscreant who is responsible for this...

The Jaffrey PD is level headed, and not alarmist. The Chief is a personal friend, and the decision was not made lightly, however I do not know all the details at this stage.

However, overall the person has been successful: his/her intent that the fireworks show should not go on has been fulfilled, there are no fireworks now. Once people figure out who it is who did this, I'd suspect that there will be a run on rails, tar and feathers--though the local lumber yard is likely to be stocking up on big timbers that can be made into stocks! Me, I'm going to be selling rotten fruit and vegetables if those stocks get made and used.

I would guess male, single-in-the-Forever-Alone mold, who will say something to a random friend with a conscience. Could be anywhere from 16 that wants to watch the Sox/Dr.Who/some other sci-fi event in peace, to old man who goes to bed at sundown. Almost certainly a neighbor of the airport, or lives somewhere on 124/202/137 and hates the traffic.

Not the entire country, just the part of it that beats their chest about how you don't mess with real 'Muricans and wraps themselves in the flag and patriotism and the like. Then, when a real threat is made, they go cower in the corner. One only needs to look at the furor created by trying to bring the the 9/11 conspirators to trial on US soil to see their lack of courage.

Pseudo Conservatives are not conservatives and they also don't have to be Democrats. Voting for Obama was something anyone with a brain did, and Clinton and Kerry were certainly more conservative than "bed-wetting" liberal.

What is your obsession with childish insults and misinformation? Why do you take out your anger with life on people online? You realize that is not a sign of a smart and successful person but rather a desperate angry little child? So maybe the bed-wetting insult fits you better.
