ignite ice: Pro Life has almost nothing to do with "God's supervision" and more to do with an unborn child still being a living entity that has a right to life. Age should not be a determination for whether or not a child can be legally murdered. There are thousands of families waiting to adopt and they literally are adopting children from China of all places because everyone in this country has near zero morality when it comes to following through on the consequences of one's actions. If you're going to have pre-marital, unprotected sex, then you should be held accountable for seeing through your child's health, and that includes seeing through its birth and its chance at life.
intelligent comment below: Stop calling it a child, it isn't.
dericwater: GOP and consistency? Haven't you heard? They're trying the inconsistency angle. That's how Romney can flip-flop between two opposing points four times within a day.
Weaver95: dammit. liberals stole my italics tag.
lennavan: Kome: I'm not. I'm proposing it being up to the woman to make that decision since it is her body and her rights are not in questionTo get to the heart of the matter - do you think it should be legal to abort a 39 week old fetus? Is that solely a decision about the woman, her rights and her body?
HutchSFA: If you have a penis you really have no right to legislate to a woman about how her body.
verbaltoxin: ghare: This is a thread where Republicans are concerned about jobs, right? No this is the thread where a bunch of pro-choicers argue who is the most pro-choice of all. I believe the jobs bill thread is down the hall and to your left.
ignite ice: Weaver95: But the first laws were handed down by heathens and pagan gods, not the christian gods (who didn't happen along until MUCH later). so...basically you are saying that only pagans are moral? You're confusing myths with legends. A myth is something that has no factual basis but has been accepted as a concept or idea. Myths are founded on the notion that they didn't happen. A legend is something that concerns a particular subset of historical, cultural value, and is considered accurate based on its acceptance. Pagan gods are a good example of myth. Countless people in the Bible worshiped pagan gods and it was well documented that these were false gods who could not support the beliefs in them. The Judeo-Christian God is what we're looking for when we think of legend. The belief in the Christian God is a belief that is highly supported by historical documents in countless museums. The very fact that there are some billion followers who recognize the Christian God as truth is testament to His existence is substantially more noteworthy than the near zero people who still worship pagan deities.
ghare: This is a thread where Republicans are concerned about jobs, right?
Jackson Herring: ignite ice: China of all placesthe fark is that supposed to mean
HotIgneous Intruder: Attention authoritarian pod people: Keep your stinky delusional religions out of my government and laws. That includes you Christians, Mooslims, Jews, Mormons, the lot of you, including all fringe sects. Your invisible sky god doesn't exist and is an imaginary construct designed to prevent you from feeling hopeless in an indifferent universe
