Fetuses are worth almost any effort, but once they're born they better be perfect. Or else. Got it.

The fact that this douchenozzle continues to suck air is to me unequivocal proof that there is no god

How very Christian of him.

So they should just be moved from one foster home to another until they're 18. OK.

Well c'mon, they're weird. If you just learn to ignore them, everything will be fine.

Does anyone who has commented so far have any adopted children? Foster children?

No? Then STFU.

So that's the qualification for thinking Pat's a hateful, moronic jackass?

And as far as I know HE doesn't have any adopted or foster children, so what gives him the authority to comment on the subject?

I find it annoying that people who have not adopted children are condemning a guy who advises others not to adopt children.

"I was adopted." "My sister is adopted." BFD. You didn't do the adopting.

Have you tried to adopt any kids? If so, did you specifically go looking for foreign, abused, starved, or brain-damged kids?

No? Then STFU.

I don't defend his idea of not wanting to be with someone for that reason, but he's not incorrect. Adopted children are diagnosed with behavioral, conduct, and learning disorders at a rate 2-3 times that of the general population

I don't think they're even pro-fetus at this point.

Their whole position seems to boil down to "if you're a woman and you have sex, you're a slut and you'd better wear that scarlet letter where everyone can see it. No fair trying to duck out of the consequences. That's a man's privilege."

Furthermore, Robertson did not say that children shouldn't be adopted.

He said, speaking to men who briefly dated this serial adopter, "you're not a dog because you don't want to take on that responsibility. You don't have to take on somebody else's problems."

He's supposedly a man of God. Jesus ate with the Lepers, dined with whores and said what you do for the least of one of these you do unto me. Someone who claims to follow Jesus should be held to a higher standard.

That has nothing to do with Jesus! It's from Genesis 4:

8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field."[d] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

9 Then the Lord said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?"

"I don't know, " he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"

Cain was being a smartass, effectively saying, "Why should I know where Abel is?"

By now, I have gone past just hoping he would either die/go away...

I want him to see everything he built fall apart.
I want him to lose his faith.
I want him to wallow in misery and despair.
And when he finally does die, I hope he meets a god I don't believe in,

And truly KNOW the hate he holds in his heart.

So are you arguing for the New Testament or the Old here?

I guess it's whichever of the two books has a passage about white-knighting douchenozzle "clergy."

I'm adopted. My biological mom was raped when she was 13. I'm the lucky crotch dropping from that relationship. My adopted parents didn't care. I still got picked.

I have adopted three kids, two that were sexually abused (among other problems). They did grow up weird. But you know what? They grew up better in our care than they would have if they had continued bouncing between foster homes. Are we just supposed to throw away damaged kids? Abused and neglected kids need all the help they can get.

Wow. This thread went exactly how I imagined it before clicking.

2012-08-16 09:33:07 PM
Is it too obvious to point out that Pat Robertson grew up weird?

2012-08-16 09:33:52 PM
How to Pick Non-Weird Children

1. Choose a child without bruises or scars.

2. Pick that child up and examine the head. If the child is non-weird, you will be able to roll the head around very easily. If the head is already missing, or you're not sure how easy it was for you to roll around the head, read on.

3. Hold the child in your hands and gently squeeze it. A weird child will feel like a stone. An overly non-weird child will feel loose under the skin. A non-weird child will feel the same as if you were to squeeze the palms of your hands together.

4. Know when the varieties of children are in season. White children are available year-round but at their peak from April to November. Blacks are available from November to July. Asians are available from March to September. Booth, Indians and Russians are available from the end of June through February. Hungarians are available from October to May, and Mexicans are available from November through July.

Just let them be sodomized until they turn 16 and their parents throw them out on the street for "lying". I'm sure they'll turn out just fine then.
