Well, he is a Cubs fan, so I can't expect him to go back, read the President's actual quote in full, then reevaluate his opinion on the matter.

You gotta admit, that takes some big balls

You gotta admit, that takes some big balls

To wear a t-shirt stating a lie/ no it doesn't. It takes balls to admit a mistake. Regurgitating fraudulent talking points, not so much.

Good for him, to show his ignorance directly to the president. Maybe POTUS will take a moment and explain to him in small words what it was he actually said.

On second readout of the article, I thought he had that shirt on in the presence of Obama or high officials. I was wrong.

Don't order the Republican's chicken, Mr. President; that thing is more semen than meat by now.

2012-08-16 01:38:06 PM
I wonder if they sell that T shirt in a size that fits straw men?

Come on, admins.

I know finding a red vs. blue balance is difficult when reality has a liberal bias, but this is like the third repeat you've greened today.

Bladel: I bet he cashed that check, tho.

Exactly.

"The government didn't build my business! *I* did!"

what's your business?

"I sell food to government workers!"

2012-08-16 02:08:58 PM
"I would never say no to anybody for any reason," Murty said. "My partner and I have different views in politics, but business is business."

That about sums up this non-story. He's not going to turn down business despite the fact he may disagree with the individuals purchasing his product. Obama and his team my disagree with the caterer but so long as the food was good, they don't have a real beef either.

Cash from campaign funds come from the government?

2012-08-16 02:27:06 PM
"No one from the government was there when we were sweating it, when we were building this business," Murty said

You know who else wasn't there? The overlord's soldiers from the next town.

The cookies the Secret Service bought sure came from your tax reciepts. Same with the entire economies of Northern VA and Hampton Roads. Lots of other places, too.

You're saying real beef isn't good food?

"No one from the government was there when we were sweating it, when we were building this business," Murty said

You serve beef products? Strange how cheap beef is. Wouldn't have to do with that cheap corn you get from agricultural subsidies, would it?

Here's what I get from all of these stories. As I mentioned in another thread, it's painfully obvious that the revered 'small business owner' who is supposed to be the pinnacle of our society are all idiots.
But more than that, I think everyone who repeats this blatant lie knows that it's a blatant lie. They all get it. They know what the president meant, but they've decided that it's better to lie than concede to reality.

Small "g" government, sure. That's what the campaign is about, right? Sure, we're not talking about a big "G" government contract or anything. But I don't think the distinction is relevant here.

Republicans can't concede reality, and the carnival barkers that feed them mental slop each day know it. They know that the masses are ignorant because of the slop, and if they stop filling the trough, they may open their eyes just long enough to realize they've been fed slop all these years, and once that happens, the carnival is over faster than a anti-gay congressman's willpower at a Chippendale's show.

So, did Obama run over Drew's cat or something? He's been very pissed at him this week. Drew, you can be pissed, but why not try being funny?

He's getting paid to have a little jab at Obama. Not like Obama will care, in fact I expect Obama to say something nice to him and have his picture taken with him. Those buns look like he sat on them though.

Soon that PITA meter bullshiat will be back.

And Drew will sit there all shocked wondering why trolling the users here will bit him on the ass. Again.

I really hate this 'you didn't build that' talking point. the total speech makes it very clear what Obama means, and you'd think that people would have checked to see what he actually said before they got all offended by the talking point.

I think it's still there and we just don't see it. You still have to select an affiliation when submitting a Politics article; why would that piece of data still be there if it wasn't being used?

2012-08-16 03:39:59 PM
So how long until the Rmoney campaign begins vetting caterers for political affiliation and/or a leak reveals that they have been doing this for quite some time?

Farking seriously. I was kidding when I brought it up earlier, but this is looking like an official new trolling initiative to drive clicks.

On the other hand, we ARE all commenting...

A great divider would not use a right wing caterer, would he?

Another vapid GOP talking point destroyed.

*dismissive jerking hand motion*

Whatever... I'm self-employed. I don't rely on a "job creator" for my income. I employ a number of local photographers, web developers, illustrators, and copy writers through sub-contracting. I'm out hustling for work everyday, averaging 10-12 hours of work 6 days a week.

I realize I benefit from the roads and interstate highway system that my taxes help maintain.
I realize I benefit from a stable society where people have income to pay for my services.
I realize I benefit from The MA Health Connector that provided me with a cost-effective health insurance plan.
I realize I benefit from a loving family that made sure knew the value of work and got a good education.

Anyone who doesn't realize that's what Obama was referring to is either a shameless partisan or completely misinformed.

Cool, another guy who teleports everything directly to and from his place of business, doesn't use the internet or a telephone, generates his own power and processes his own sewage. Also, this guy is so cool that his catering company exists in an alternate dimension, so he is not on a public street, with public sidewalks, a government-organized street numbering system, government trash removal, police protection or fire protection.(He's just like the bakery owner who told off Biden earlier)

Very, VERY Bootstrappy... If I can ever locate this catering business(Not sure how you do it without using something supported by government infrastructure, which was the point of Obama's statement), I might just have to hire them

Of course, if I'm paying for caterers, they're dressing like I had to when I was catering, Button up shirt, tie, and black pants. Fark these fat slobs in T-Shirts, I'd have sent the farker home to change into something a little less 'gutter'.

Pfft. It's not the "opposing viewpoint" that has people irritated, it's the combination of (1) an article that documents a state of facts that is exactly the opposite of subby's headline, and (2) regurgitation of the Bretibarting of Obama's speech. And, I'll listen to your whining about whining when Romney stops whining about people saying mean things about him.
