This party is guaranteed to be 100% free of cardboard cutouts and animatronics.

I don't have an exact count, but I use a favorite group for them. Granted, most of them don't hang in TFD, but my own list has 28 in Germany alone, and about 50 in the rest of Europe. As far as TF, again an incomplete list, but some are

Farkers and Drew pub-crawling in Amsterdam...This will not end well.

In other news, TF just went up to $500/month in anticipation of the need for some bail money.

Drew didn't build that - how dare he use the TFers money to go get high in Amsterdam?

/I'm outraged

I thought the government of Amsterdam banned tourists from smoking put because of peer pressure.

Besides, if if they did, the US can and will arrest you if they suspect you went to Amsterdam and smoked pot.

According to the article you linked, that would only be true if you overtly made plans to do so while you were still in the US. If you went to Amsterdam and procured marijuana and consumed it without making plans to do so beforehand (in a way such that can actually be proven, I would imagine, like a facebook update or text message) then that law wouldn't apply to you.

Also, that bill has not been signed into law as far as I can tell. According to the library of congress website, the last action on the bill was when it passed the house which is what is discussed in the article you linked (from almost a year ago.)

Beyond that, it is true that foreigners are not permitted to buy marijuana in coffee shops in the Netherlands. However, there has been a lot of backlash from the coffee shops and many of them have purportedly vowed to ignore the ban. Whether or not they are doing so is beyond my knowledge. However, I do know that the ban does not extend to posession or consumption of marijuana, just purchase from coffee shops. It would probably be trivial at best to find a citizen of the Netherlands to procure some for you. I hear the cab drivers there can get you pretty much anything you could want.

From what was said when we were over there last year was that no matter what the netherlands passed the cities felt they were still able to sell it, the biggest issue were germans and other close nations coming over then getting drunk/high and turning smaller towns into crap holes. Local residents biatched then screamed "Look how horrible drug use is!!!" Well since the local cities approved the shops thinking of just tourist dollars but then didnt have the foresight to hire police to control drunks they should probably blame their local municipalities.

I havent been there this year but last year we were high the first day then quit to see the city until the night time, and that law is so broad most decent lawyers would get the case thrown out, it was a reaction to not being able to charge people with US crimes after their drugs never reached the states, that people could be arrested for offenses outside the US but US authorities is farking insane.

In the time before time, call it the mid 1980's, I was in college and by best friend and I took the Suburban White College Boy's Backpack Tour of Europe trip. We did the requisite stuff, some out of the way stuff, visited some friends of my family in Germany, the usual, including the Amsterdam. So we get back and we're going through customs. Customs goons do a cursory check of our bags because we're just so squeaky clean, white bread, harmless knuckleheads (no really we were). My inspector's done and about to turn me loose but when he hears my buddy mention "Amsterdam" to his inspector, mine rips back into my bag, turns it all inside out, strews my stuff everywhere, just makes a big farking mess.

Meanwhile, I had all the smuggled drugs hidden in my friend's rectum and my friend never even knew it!

The "wiet pass" does not go into effect until next year, and no one expects the police to waste money enforcing it. That is directly from Dutch language outlets.
tl; dr if you need a floor to crash on for the Fark party no worries.

And so naturally, rather than pointing out any one of the many (according to you) inaccurate statements I made, you pointed to a statement where I specifically said I was lacking a bit of knowledge, which is entirely accurate. I can see how that might seem like the best course of action, assuming you have shiat for brains.

Yeah thats what they were saying last time we were there, kind of pissed us off since we went to see the debauchery before it changed, wasnt a big deal though, but would have loved to find a job and move there, amsterdam is a beautiful city that feels like a small town.

I had a (sorta) similar experience in the 90s. I went to Amsterdam for a week, then went on to Manchester and London. When I arrived back in the states from London the customs guy asked me where I'd been and the instant I mentioned Amsterdam his ears perked up and he said "Step over here please". He then went through my luggage (which had a bottle of GHB sitting on the very top of my bag covered by a single t-shirt, which he totally managed to miss) and proceeded to grill me over a bottle of ibuprofen I'd bought at Heathrow. "What's this for?" he asked accusingly. I said "Uh... my headache?".
