That's good.

Though I was wondering if they'd write it into the script or if they'd do with her what they did with James Doohan during Star Trek, and just not show her hand. Though, I do have to wonder if they'll mention the hand injury on show or if she'll spend a period of time with her left hand behind objects, just like they did when the chick who played Penny broke her leg a couple years ago.

I'm guessing she'll appear as a head shot via video chat for a few episodes until she gets function back in her hand.

And with Penny and her severely broken leg...what's up with that show? Seems cursed.

I first read a headline about this story that said she was seriously injured. Then I clicked the link because I was curious if this was a deadly kind of injury. Then I see that it is her thumb that is injured.

Okay...there is no such thing as a "serious injury" involving the thumb. There is a "serious thumb injury" but when you say "serious injury" without specifying a body part, then that brings to mind something with deadly or paralyzing potential.

This thumb injury getting way overplayed by the media.

Okay, Ms Bialik is maybe coming up shy in the looks department, but she's smart and funny. And in my book that counts for a lot.

Child actors are cast when they're young and cute (or in her case less offensive) so they're grandfathered in when they get older and would never otherwise be able to get work except maybe on Star Trek.

Screw her. Thousands of parents will decide not to vaccinate their children because of Ms. Bialik.

She's Jenny McCarthy...with clothes and with a PhD.

No.

As a kid she was interesting looking but somehow slipped into the 'less than average' catagory.

Her BBT character is annoying but not as bad as she was originally.

Or else I'm just getting used to her portrayal, which would be sad.

The character has changed. She's gone from a female version of Sheldon to a woman who is about as intelligent as Sheldon, but with an apparent sex drive and wanting to bed both Sheldon and Penny.

Now they have to rewrite scripts to include... Lets have Amy call Sheldon to pick her up at the hospital, which he refuses so she calls her bestie Penny, and under the influence of demerol makes a pass at Penny.

Barricaded Gunman: Great Janitor: Though I was wondering if they'd write it into the script or if they'd do with her what they did with James Doohan during Star Trek,

Wait, what?

James Doohan lost a finger during WWII. So, when filming Star Trek, his hands were rarely shown, or when shown, it was typically the good hand. In Star Trek 4 where he's on the computer showing that guy transparent aluminum, those aren't James Doohan's hands, someone elses. In Star Trek 5, there is a scene early on where you can see his hand with the missing finger. When Uhura hands him the bag of food, the grabs the bag with the 'bad' hand, and you can see the finger not there.

Telly Savalas was also missing half an index finger. Nobody ever really tried to hide it though. Funny how if you don't make a big deal out of it nobody really notices stuff like that.

Who the hell is Six? And why am I just now seeing her awesomeness?

2012-08-16 01:49:07 PM
While people are derping about her lack of supermodel-grade looks, she's busy being a PhD, an actress in a successful comedy TV series, a loving mother, and is due for a generous insurance settlement. If she was in a rock band, I'd think of her as a female version of New Jersey from "Buckaroo Banzai".

Hope she heals up soon. That injury sounds awful.

I has a similar near severing of a finger in an accident once...It was a serious hand/finger injury, but I would not have broadcast it as merely "injured seriously"...I was never considered to be in "serious condition" by the hospital.

CSB: Gary Burghoff and James Doohan both had their missing digits routinely hidden. Conversely, in the Caine Mutiny Jose Ferrer ADDED a disfigurement to his character's wardrobe (bandaged hand) as a protest against the studio's decision not to explore his character's experiences with anti-semitism that lead him to join the Navy...and the director deliberately included it in many shots.

Oh c'mon. She's not conventionally pretty, but she is very far from ugly. She actually looks like an attractive woman in the real/normal range.

I sense Sharp Knee-ism.
